Scott Alden Sager
Scott Alden Sager, 60, of China, Texas, died in his home Tuesday, April 25, 2023. He was born on August 22, 1962, to Lawrence and Claudia Sager.
Scott told many stories of his joy-filled and adventurous childhood growing up with family and special friends where his passion for motorsports, rock and roll, and automobiles was born. An avid competitor, Scott enjoyed motocross racing and was always up for the challenge of racing friends and family. Scott loved helping to raise cows and pigs with his dad as a kid. And if you knew Scott, you also know he never met an animal he wasn’t intrigued by. Giving homes to a variety of pets ranging from dogs and cats to birds and snakes. He loved them all and had little fear of anything. In his early career, Scott followed in his father’s footsteps in the restaurant industry until he eventually transitioned to the HVAC field where he had a successful career spanning over 20 years working with Reed Service Company. His work ethic and loyalty to his employers were beyond reproach. Scott will be remembered as a headstrong man who worked hard, played hard, and loved hard. He was a protector to those he cared for and never said no to a friend in need. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his best friend and love of his life, Wendy Robbins and her children and grandchildren who lovingly knew him as Poppa Scott: daughters Carli Lamb and Cassie Robbins, and their children Audi, Brody and Raynee. Also left to cherish his memory are his numerous aunts, uncles and fun-loving cousins; nephews Michael and Daniel Singletary; and last, but not least, his beloved dogs Toby and Tyler along with their foster parents, Cindy and Stacey Jeanis, who became two of Scott’s dearest friends.
Scott is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Alden Sager, Jr. and Claudia Ann Sager; and his beautiful sister, Debra Lynn Singletary.
Life changed for Scott in 2017 after his house in Bevil Oaks flooded during Hurricane Harvey. While working to restore his home Scott began having neurological symptoms that started impairing his mobility. Unfortunately, these symptoms were the beginning of a long-term disease known as ALS. Scott faced this slow grueling challenge, and all the pain and hardship that came with it, with great courage and unwavering hope. They say it takes a village and Scott was blessed with a wonderful tribe. In the end, Scott was fortunate to have a care team that gave him the best possible quality of life in the comfort of his own home. We want to give special thanks to his angel care provider, Ruth Cooper and the care team she assembled over these last months, as well as Nikki Lafitte with Trinity Hospice. We also appreciate the love and attention given to Scott by his uncle, who was more like a brother, Eddie Bowden.
Scott always said he had a wonderful life, and he was grateful and blessed to have experienced many joys and adventures. When it came time to fight this disease, he fought with everything he had to the very end. Although his life was cut short, we find comfort in knowing he’s now in God’s hands, reunited with his family, and free of his pain and suffering. Scott never lost his smile and never ever gave up hope. May his memory bring a smile to your face and hope in your heart.
A gathering to celebrate Scott’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 20, 2023, in the home of Cindy and Stacey Jeanis, 2887 Kent Road, Beaumont, Texas, 77705. His cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

Scott was always ready to help someone. He didn’t need to know someone to help them. I will miss him. I worked with Scott for 12 years at Reed Service. If he saw a need for something he was all in! Jesus took the sting of death away, rest easy my brother! See you on the other side, we will probably be working on air conditioners up there! I will look forward to be on call with you one day! Prayers for us all, in the days ahead! God said; well done my faithful servant!
I remember it like it was yesterday. Scott, Daryl Phelps & Me fishing. Lawn Darts and Scott’s Dad’s hood to his Buick…Scott was grounded and I got sent home. Shooting Bottlerockets at J.R. when he was on the roof. Pulling the towel off J.R. when he was in a full body cast.???? Scott and I in HJ band…He hit the Highest note ever heard!???? We All loved him! I never knew someone with so much energy. WHAT A FRIEND! I love Scott and I am Sad to hear his passing. I look forward to seeing Scott and Debra in Heaven some day soon. Scott was such a fun loving friend , with a contagious laugh that made us all join in the fun! He will be so missed, we all loved him in school and knew it was a better world for him being in it!! I pray God brings his family peace at this sad time!! Melissa and Chris Simmons

So sorry to hear of Scott’s passing. I loved my nephew so much and thought of him always! He was thoughtful and loving to his family! It hurts me to think how much he had suffered these last few years and nothing could help him! Rest in peace, sweet Scott and say hi to your mom and dad!❤️????????
He was absolutely the most amazing man I’ve encountered. I took care of him and though I was the youngest in our care team, he made sure i knew everything there was too life. Anything I ever wanted to know or needed to know he supported and was always right. love you Mr scott ????????????
A fond memory that I had before I was married to his sister was chasing armadillos through the woods one moonlit night trying to catch one. We finally caught one by the tail going into it’s hole but no way could we get it to budge in pulling it out.
