I met Skip during College days at Lamar. We shared many good times and became lifelong friends along with our Cello playing friend Robert and our running buddy Bill. He always had good things to say and could make you laugh with his stories and our poking fun at one another. We all shared a more than 40 year friendship and Skip will be greatly missed.

So thankful that the Lord let us share a long lunch with our friend Bill on Saturday, July 30th. We had not seen each other in a while as I now live in Katy, but we picked right up just like old times. We took a group picture and he was smiling. We will cherish this gift forever.

Skip thanked us for prayers and said that was helpful and encouraging during his illness. Thankful that he is no longer in pain and enjoying the company of loved ones gone before.

We will be praying for Jani and the family for peace and comfort and the blessing to enjoy the many happy memories of time with Skip.

    God Bless
    Marlin

I did not know Skip but I know his brother Ray ( Clinton) and want him to know how sad we were to hear of his brother’s passing. Our prayers go out to Skip’s family and to Ray. Reading Skip’s obituary really honored this man’s life. I pray for peace and comfort for all of you.

When Skipper started orchestra, he tied his violin to his bike and rode to school with it perched on the back of his bike. He got that violin gene from his great grandfather who was famous at all the local dances and functions in the country area where he lived. I babysat him along with Ray and Patsy when he was a toddler. He has brought great joy to our family and we will miss him.

    Carl Owen says:

My favorite memories was playing in orchestra with Skip. He was an earnest , first stand, second violin player and always had a good laugh and a happy countenance. My heartfelt condolences go out to his wife and family. And a special salute to him as a member of law enforcement.
May eternal light shine upon him and give him peace.
