Shannon Schroeder Wallace
Shannon Schroeder Wallace, 44, of Beaumont, died Saturday, March 19, 2022, at MD Anderson, at UTMB Health League City Campus Hospital & Clinics. She was born January 29, 1978, in Beaumont, to Suzan Carol Wright Schroeder and Donald Howard Schroeder.
Shannon graduated from Westbrook High School in 1997. She played volleyball, basketball, and softball and was a member of Amelia 4-H. Shannon graduated with her associate’s degree from Lamar Institute of Technology. She worked as a Director of Student Placement at Brightwood College and was a member of the Cowboy Church on the Rock. She enjoyed sports, being outdoors, flowers, and the beach.
Shannon is survived by her husband, Damon Wallace; children, Cole Schroeder; Cassidy Nelson; Caylee Nelson; stepchildren, Tristan Wallace; Addie Wallace; Autumn Wallace; parents, Donny and Suzan Schroeder; brother, Cody Schroeder; and niece, Bailey Schroeder.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents.
A gathering of Shannon’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 25, 2022, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium.

My family would like to express that you’re in our thoughts and prayers as you go through the difficult task of laying to rest your daughter and sister. Our families have been friends a long time. I remember when Shannon was on my Volleyball team at West Brook. She was a beautiful young lady and fought a tough battle but we all will have beautiful memories of her. Shannon was an amazing person. Donny and Suzan, I thank you for entrusting me and blessing me with the opportunity to know her.

Shannon was a wonderful person. It was my pleasure to know her in many capacities. First as a student at West Brook then as the parent of one of my students, Cole. She fought such a tough fight. Many prayers and much love to her precious family.
I was fortunate to meet Shannon at an unfortunate time. She tore her ACL during a high school playoff basketball game. She attacked her rehab program with the same intensity and determination she displayed on the playing field. She was a wonderful young lady and will be missed by all that were fortunate to have met her. My thoughts and prayers go out to all that loved her.

Donny and Susan, I am so sorry to hear of this tragic loss. Sometimes there are just no words to express feelings. I know that Shannon was very special to you and I know how very important family is to you. There is no doubt that you raised her right and I am confident that she will rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus. Prayers for you all.

Shannon was a beautiful friend who courageously fought against a disease that touches too many of us. In 2019, she was selected to be an American Cancer Society Portrait of Courage and I am so proud to have known her and been a part of her life. I will deeply miss Shannon’s smile and the light she brought to all who knew her. Her spirit will live on for each life she touched. May you Rest In Peace sweet Shannon.
Shannon was one of the most amazing and competitive young women I have had the fortune of coaching. She started on one my first play-off team at West Brook HS in the mid 90’s. I am a better person because of young women like Shannon. To the parents, having lost a son recently, I know what you are going through. I feel like I have lost another one of my children. Thank God for the Schroeder’s for allowing me to be a part of Shannon’s beautiful life.
