Shelly D. Dodson

April 11, 1967 - September 11, 2021

Shelly D. Dodson, 54, of Conroe, died Saturday, September 11, 2021, at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston after a two year battle with cancer.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernie Dodson and Bobbie Thompson and her brother, Garrick Dodson.

Shelly is survived by her uncle, David W. Smith and wife, Diane, of Lumberton; half-sister, Shay Nikole; step-brother, Jay Peoples; and extended cousins, family members and friends.

She was truly blessed to have two very special people in her life, Chuck Fowler of Austin and Nina Sharbach of Las Vegas that loved and cared for Shelly always.  Shelly also held a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved pet cat, Munchie.

Shelly earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Texas and worked as a Clinical Trial Manager in the Clinical Research field.

Her cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her burial will be in Austin, Texas.

    The happiest years of my life were when I was Stepmother to Ernie’s ❤️’Shelly & Garrick’ and my own ‘Jay & Shay’. Busy wonderful years from 1977 to 1988. ❤️Shelly was the oldest and she was like a little Mother to the rest of them. Ernie and I loved it when we had them All together. Thank you ❤️Shelly for all the sweet memories. Mama Elle❤️ Will miss you always.
