Oh God Sherry, we never got to have lunch. I don’t know what
happened—but losing you is a great tragedy. I respected you a great deal. We both served the library world and hopefully we made someone’s life better.
    I will miss you, friend.

My condolences to Sherry’s family for this sad loss of a wonderful woman. I met Sherry when she ran for state office. I admired her for doing that, and appreciated her kindness.

My sweet friend…we never found that perfect time for lunch or for your birthday. Thank you for being my first friend in Sour Lake all those years ago. Thank you for letting me be part of your library and catering circles. Jonathan and Jeff, your mom always talked highly of her boys and their families. You were all her precious jewels. Every time I pass the library I want to stop in and say hi but that’s just my old age not remembering she hasn’t worked there in a while…rest in peace now, dear friend.

I have not seen Sherry in years, but she was always so sweet. Praying for her loved ones.

    Teresa Attaway Dumphy says:

My deepest condolences to Debbie, Jonathon, Jeff and rest of family. I agree with all of the comments; Sherry was one sweet lady. She was also a person of service to her community, whether as town librarian, Chamber of Commerce Director or election worker. She also ran for state office and had good things to say about her opponent, which is rare in today’s political environment. She always said she inherited those service traits from her father, Wallace, who served many years in the Sour Lake Lions Club, of which she was also a member. Rest in peace Sherry. You have done well. I will miss our political conversations my Democrat Comrade (a personal joke between Sherry and me).

    Rhett M Cody says:

    ONE TRUE FRIEND
As I stop to count my blessings,
There is one thing which rings true.
    I’ll always be so grateful,
For the friend I found in you!
    Grateful for the special times
    We’ve shared throughout the years,
    Times that brought us closer,
Through our laughter and our tears.
    Grateful just to have someone
As kind and good as you,
To share my finest moments with
    And share my sorrows, too.
And when I look upon my life,
    What matters in the end,
Is that I was really lucky,
To find one, true, faithful friend!
