Sherry Martin Hullett

August 30, 1942 - October 1, 2022

Sherry Martin Hullett, 80, of Beaumont, died Saturday, October 1, 2022. She was born on August 30, 1942, in Port Arthur, to Opal Sutherland and J.C. Martin.

Mom poured her entire heart and soul into the lives of her children and grandchildren. She loved her husband and her family without ceasing and that love was tangible to everyone who knew her. The queen of spoiling kids with way too many snacks and treats, holiday decorating, gift giving, beauty shop days, and her famous butt dials. Our hearts may be broken but we are eternally grateful for the blessing of her love, guidance, sacrifice and commitment she gave to our family for 80 long, well lived years. We hope to honor her by loving our people the way she loved us.

Survivors include her husband of forty-one years, Wayne Hullett, of Beaumont; daughters, Allison Rosauer and her husband, Mike, of Spurger; Courtney Waters and her husband, Chris, of Mauriceville; Heather Brown and her husband, Jason, of Sour Lake; and Lindsey Brown and her husband, David, of Beaumont; son, Brooks Liggett and his wife, Beth, of Pearland; grandchildren, Haley and her husband, Brandon, Payton, Jackson, Jaclyn, Lane, Emma, Beau, Cameron, and Bailey; great-grandchildren, Mathis, Gentry, Jeremiah, and Asher; and brother, Tootie Martin and his wife, Pam, of Beaumont.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A gathering of Mrs. Hullett’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A private interment will be held at a later date.

    Brooks & Courtney and family.
so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. She sounds like she was a wonderful lady to grow up with. Seems that she rubbed off on all you kids, because I always enjoyed hanging with you guys. Just know that we are thinking of you during this time.

    Megan Ryan says:

Heartbroken to see this…Lindsey, your mom was such a special part of my childhood. My mom also remembers her fondly – RNs are a special breed of person and share a unique bond. Sending you and the family all my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

I am so very sad to hear of Sherry’s death. Scott and I first met Sherry and Wayne when Lindsey took gymnastics from BGA. Our kids attended Kelly together, and we ended up being neighbors at Crystal Beach. My mom died when I was 24, and even though I was in my 30s when Sherry and I first met, Sherry gave me love and motherly advice when she felt I needed it. I remember talking with her, and lending a shoulder when her mother died. Sherry loved her children, and she could never stop glowing about and bragging on Payton. I cherish those days when they were our beach neighbors. Shortly after we bought our beach house across the street from theirs Sherry gifted me with a little hula girl lamp. I placed her on our kitchen window sill. She was sitting on our window sill when Hurricane Ike took our beach house. Scott found that little lamp in a lot behind us a few weeks after Ike. The lamp shade was ruined, but a new bulb was all she needed to work again. That hula girl lamp is now in the house we rebuilt, and every time I look at it I think of Sherry. To all of Sherry’s family, you already know how much she loved each of you, but also know she didn’t hesitate to tell everyone she spoke with about how much she loved each of you.

    Scott H. Weston says:

I am saddened at the loss of Sherry. I really liked her. We hit it off immediately. We had a lot of fun, laughter, and tears over the years, trying to keep all her smartphones, gadgets, pads, and electronics going to her specifications!!! She was really loved and will be missed dearly. ????????????

    To Sherry’s family:
Sherry and I found each other in the second grade. We were separated in junior high-school for 1-1/2 yearsand got back together in high school and college. We ran the roads of the beach and visited all the sites of Galveston.
Allison Drue (also my middle name) was my first experience of holding a
    newborn.
I was lucky to call Sherry my friend for many years. I grieve for her and her family.

We worked together in PACU ( Recovery room) Always had that beautiful smile, a great sense of humor. Her kindness showed through in her everyday work. Her love for her family was ever present. We became friends. She took care of my Cocker Spaniel when I went on vacation and was always interested in my little family. She has a Special place in my heart.
