Shirley Jean Nett, age 88, of Sour Lake, Texas, was born September 5th, 1933, in China, Texas, to late parents Odile and Lee Thibadeaux, of Church Point, Louisiana.

When she was in high school at Sour Lake High, she met her husband James L. Nett. They began dating at Lamar University. They were married June 26, 1955, at Our Lady of Victory Church. Together they built a beautiful life and became parents to Douglas A. Nett, their only child. Through sixty-seven years of marriage, they became a pillar for younger generations in the family.

Booger and Shirley came to our wedding in Houston in 1974, and we were honored to be part of their 50th Anniversary Wedding Cruise. As best friends to Jessie Mae and Archie, we truly felt they were our extended family. Thank you for the years of memories. What a blessing for all!
