Stephanie Elise Stafford Lyons

September 16, 1977 - May 3, 2023

Stephanie Elise Stafford Lyons, 45, of Surfside, died Wednesday, May 3, 2023.  She was born on September 16, 1977, in Port Arthur, to Mary Ellen Guest Stafford Melancon and Albert Louis Stafford.

Stephanie attended elementary school in Port Arthur, and after moving to Nederland, she attended Central Middle School and graduated from Nederland High School. She also attended the University of Houston.

Stephanie’s love of adventure led her to a life in Houston, Texas, Cleveland, Ohio, and back to Surfside Beach, Texas.

Stephanie was a people’s person!  She worked as the Manager for eight years at Sooth Massage and Wellness while she lived in Cleveland and has been working as an Assistant with Coastal Sisters Charming Rentals in Surfside.

Stephanie was full of life and a ray of sunshine!  She never met a stranger, and everyone loved her!  She was a friend for life!  She had a big heart and a bigger personality… in such a little person!  She was beautiful… inside and out!  She was silly, witty, happy and always wearing a smile!  Stephanie loved to cook, and she could whip up a meal from out of just about anything!  She was a lover of animals, flowers, jewelry, music, cooking, purses, shoes, leggings, lipstick, and most recently… rain boots!  If you knew her well, I know you are smiling with me!

I know my life will never be the same without my daughter and my best friend!  Without you, I’m not me!  I love you Stephanie… now and forever! ❤️

Survivors include her mother, Mary Ellen Melancon and her husband, Terry, of Silsbee; siblings, Kari Melancon Butler and her husband, Brian and Megan Brady and her husband, Michael, all of Nederland; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her father; grandmother, Mary “Tang” Guest Winam; and uncle, Wiley Guest.

A gathering of Stephanie’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m., with her memorial service at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  Her committal will be handled by Broussard’s Crematorium.

Psalm 23 The Psalm of David

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.

He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still and quiet waters.

He refreshes and restores my soul! He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

Yes, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff they comfort and console me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You have anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. And I shall dwell forever in the house of the Lord.

I met Stephanie in 6th grade at Woodrow Wilson Middle School (Summit II Program). She was such a beautiful and friendly person. After middle school I lost touch with her since we ended up at different High Schools. We reconnected several years ago. Hearing the news of her passing has ???? broken my heart. My thoughts and prayers with her family.
