Marc, David, Walt, Jeni, and grandchildren,

So sorry to hear of your loss of Steve. We had many good times at the Rice Festival, and at family gatherings. We especially liked his “alligator” stories. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. May he rest in peace.

    Allen Peltier says:

Ive known Steve all my life. Rode the bus with him for a couple of years as a little boy. Worked with him in a couple of projects together. He loved my wife Debbie and was around during her illness with open arms and a large heart. Steve and I had a few awesome stories, but they will forever remain between Steve and I. David and Mark, So sorry for the loss of your brother. Jenny and Walt I cant put in to words my sadness for you. I love you and so sorry for the loss of your Dad. God bless, Allen Paul Peltier.

My heart is heavy with the news of Steve’s passing. We met by chance many years ago and our families then became one. I’ll always remember his antics and just thinking of him brings a smile to my face. Thank you for the great times Steve, until we meet again!

    Tonya Alexander says:

Tony and I are heartbroken to know Steve Stelly will no longer be here. He will always be one of Tony’s dearest friends. We both loved him so much.
Tony and Steve have been friends longer than the iPhones have been around. They both had Nextel CB phones and they’d talk morning and night like little boys on walkie-talkies.
When we first met Steve he had an alligator farm. Tony’s alligator boots Steve had made are still his favorite boots. I still use my alligator wallet.
The first time I ever went deep sea fishing was with Steve and Dee. I chummed the fish up throwing up all day and Dee stood on the front of the boat and caught red fish. We had so much fun with them. When we got home Steve made blackened red fish better than Floyd’s can make.
He was a great character in our lives.
He had more true grit and determination than any John Wayne character in any old movie. Hollywood can write about fake characters and make movies, but we are so lucky we knew the real deal.
We aren’t sad we didn’t get to say our goodbyes because we know he knew how much we loved him.
Somebody needs to write a book about the life of our friend Steve Stelly, because it would be a page turner and keep you intrigued.
We know he’s healthy now and not in pain as he is with our King Jesus.
We have his family in our prayers as we also shed our own tears.
We will see him again someday.

    Matt and Denise Byers says:

We send our deepest sympathy to the Family. We will never forget the kindness & friendship Mr. Stelly showed to our family. We had only been living in the Winnie area for (2) days & stopped to buy crawfish. Mr. Stelly not only gave us those crawfish, we were his instant friends. He always called or text to invite us to every celebration he had. He welcomed us with open arms. He said that first day we met “we are neighbors and that makes us family”, he meant that, and proved it! We felt so loved and welcomed. We will never forget you Mr. Stelly! You are a special man, you touched our family and we are better for having known you! Rest in peace dear friend. Big hugs to his family and close dear friends as I know this is a huge loss for you all. Mr. Stelly, you will be missed !
Love, your neighbors, Matt and Denise Byers
