Steve Petix
Steve Petix, 78, of Beaumont, died Monday, March 16, 2026, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. He was born on April 7, 1947, to Josephine Mangione Petix and Santo Petix, in Rochester, New York, and was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
Steve was a truly good man—kind, steady, and full of love for his family. He loved deeply and unconditionally, always putting those he cared about first. His family was his greatest pride and his greatest joy, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
He will be remembered for his warm heart, his quiet strength, and the way he made people feel safe, supported, and loved. Steve had a special gift for bringing light into everyday moments, often through his humor and his unforgettable dad jokes that could make anyone smile, even on the hardest days. His laughter, his stories, and his presence will be deeply missed but forever carried in the hearts of those who loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Pam Petix; children, Shelly Geis and her husband, Christopher, of Beaumont and Kelly Carpenter of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Angelica Coffel and her husband, Nathan; Megan Geis and her fiancé, Kirk Ebel; Taylor Mattes and her husband, Frank; Matthew Bartley; Krista Sabel and her husband, Adam; and Heather Skaggs and her husband, Corey; great-grandchildren, Taegan, Cooper, Ellie, Isabell, Kase, Aaliyah, Austin, and Adelynn; and friends who became family, Peter Morris and his wife, Barbara, Courteney Morris, Brittney Morris, Renee Durkin and her husband, Kevin, and Miyka Durkin.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Petix’s cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
We are so very sorry for your loss. Prayers and hugs to the family. With love, Bill and Kelly Majors family.
Steve always understood he was good, but it was not good enough to get into heaven. He knew he needed a Savior, he placed all his faith in Jesus. Jesus the eternally faithful, covered Steve’s life and blessed all those that crossed his path in divine appointments.
Steve being filled with the joy of the Spirit, blessed all those in his life with the overflowing abundance of the fruit of the Spirit. Steve was always filled with love for all, but nothing was greater than his love for his wife, family and friends, the recipients of the ripest of his spiritual fruit.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control”.
Steve was truly a man after God’s own heart, what a blessing to call Steve more than just a friend.
Steve was a modern day example of Jesus’s own words of the greatest two commandments.
‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
Steve lived and faithfully devoted himself to Jesus’s words and to all those he touched.
On “3:16” 2026 (In classic Steve style, held on to the end serving and preaching the Gospel)
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
On 3/16 Steve Petix heard his Savior call his name and upon his arrival into the loving arms of Jesus, a moment he had longed and prayed for since the beginning. Steve heard Jesus say…
‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’”
With great joy, love and sadness. We miss you “Grampa Steve” we will see you shortly, save us a good seat. – Miykael , Renee and Kevin Durkin
