Steven Schexnayder

August 16, 1986 - January 20, 2022

Steven Eric Schexnayder, 35, of Nederland, died Saturday, January 20, 2022. He was born August 16, 1986, in Beaumont.

Steven spent a large part of his career working offshore but most recently was a lab tech for Camin Cargo Control, Nederland. He enjoyed spending his free time fishing and working out. He especially loved to cook. Steven will be remembered as a loving and kind father, son, and brother.

Survivors include his daughter, Layla Schexnayder-Marks, of Vidor; parents, Eric and Kathey Schexnayder, of Port Neches; sister, Stefanie Wright and husband, Matt, of Nederland; brother, Andrew Snider and wife, Shelby, of Leander; grandmother, Pauline Dunn, of Nederland; mother, JoAnn Parker, of Port Arthur; his special love, Kayla Marks, of Vidor; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Floyd and Lilly Schexnayder; Joe and Joyce Parker; and Don Dunn.

A gathering of Steven’s family and friends will begin 10:00 a.m., with his memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Steven’s cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

Memorial contributions may be made to Adult and Teen Challenge of Texas, 3850 S. Loop 1604 W, San Antonio, Texas 78264.

    Dude, I still am in such shock and so saddened by this. Man you will truly be missed all through your our lives. You are one of the few I actually considered a close friend and was so proud of how far you had become and still. You and Kayla made one of the list beautiful little girls and she looks just like you. Don’t worry , they need anything we will be there.
