Sue Ellen Hitchcock
Sue Ellen Hitchcock, 75, of Silsbee, died Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at The Orchard Assisted Living, Woodville. She was born on June 26, 1948, to Iris June Wyatt White and Arthur H. White, in Port Arthur.
Sue worked as a LVN for many years in various nursing capacities throughout Southeast Texas. She enjoyed trips to the casino, fishing, and hunting, especially squirrels. Sue will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and maw maw.
Survivors include her sons, David Sterling and his wife, Charla, of Buna and Shane Sterling and his wife, Michelle, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Sharon Byrd and her husband, Justin, Stephen Sterling, Daniel Sterling, and Lisa Sherman and her husband, Nico; great-grandson, Matthew; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 30 years, Gary Sterling; husband of 20 years, John Hitchcock; brother, Arthur Oden White; and sister, Celia Koci.
A gathering of Mrs. Hitchcock’s family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 29, 2023, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her interment will follow at R.S. Farmer Cemetery, Silsbee.
