Susie Bell Rodriguez

Susie Bell Rodriguez, 92, of Kountze, died Sunday, December 5, 2021.  She was born on March 22, 1929, in New Waverly, to Elizabeth Lillard Risner and Sherman Henry Risner.

Survivors include her children, Joe Rodriguez and his wife, Jane; Nick Rodriguez; Mona Duce and her husband, Jerry; Rita Flowers and her husband, Kevin; Cathy Gatewood and her husband, Robert; and Tina Allison, all of Kountze; grandchildren, Susan Childress and her husband, Lance, of Atlanta, Texas; Joey Rodriguez and his wife, Cammie, of Lumberton; Casaundra McCormick of Canton; Christopher Pitts and Jason Pitts, both of Kountze; Gretchen Butler of Nederland; Meredith Iley of Lumberton; Adrianna Gatewood of Deer Park; Carol Coplen of Kountze; Brandon Swartout of Baytown; and Jesse Allison of Pecan Gap; twenty-four great-grandchildren; brother, Ray Risner of Denton; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rito Rodriguez; daughter, Teresa Rodriguez; and siblings, Eloise Martin, Fay Risner, Christine Ford, Buddy Risner, Cecil Risner, and Tex Risner.

A gathering of Mrs. Rodriguez’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 10, 2021, at Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at Resthaven Cemetery, Silsbee.
