Terry J. Hallemann
Terry J. Hallemann, 63, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025, surrounded by family, after a three year battle with cancer.
Terry was born January 24, 1961, to Geraldine “Jerry” and Anthony “Tony” Hallemann. He was a longtime resident of Beaumont, Texas. After graduating from Forest Park High School, Terry headed to the University of Texas and became a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. Terry married the love of his life, Judy Barlow, and they soon had two daughters, with whom he could often be found enjoying late nights in the kitchen, watching Iron Chef, and cooking his famous caramelized onion and prosciutto quesadillas. The most fun dad, Terry was happiest in The Grove, in Oxford, Mississippi. He proudly proclaimed that while he loved his Longhorns and was a “Texas Grad,” he was also a big Rebs fan and an “Ole Miss Dad.” Terry loved spending time at Lake Sam Rayburn with the crew, sitting on Mimi’s back porch and going on sunset cruises. Always quick-witted, he will be remembered for his gregarious personality and how special he made everyone around him feel.
Terry is survived by his daughters, Amy Mallen and her husband, Jon, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Emily Trevino of Beaumont; granddaughter, Elizabeth James Trevino of Beaumont; brothers, Johnny Passmore and his wife, Sharon, of Beaumont, Steve Hallemann and his wife, MaryAnn, of St. Louis, Missouri; sisters, Sandy Tuckwiller and her husband, Ross, of Houston, Sharon Pannel of Houston, Marsha Barge and her husband, Harry, of St. Louis, Missouri; partners-in-crime, niece, Cori Foreman, nephew, Todd Passmore, and long-time friend, Danny Pannel; his beloved dog, Zoe; multiple other family members; and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; parents, Jerry and Tony; brother, Greg Passmore; and grandson, Atlas James Mallen.
A gathering of Terry’s family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m., with his memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2025, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 680 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
Terry’s family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in honor of Terry’s late grandson, Atlas Mallen. Memorial gifts can be made online at choa.org/tribute or mailed to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation, 1575 NE Expressway, Atlanta, Georgia 30329.

Em, Amy, EJ- thankful to have known your dad since our childhood and always felt welcomed by him. He left y’all with a love for hosting friends and easy conversation. That Hallemann twinkle in your eyes and smile are undeniably from him, too.
My heart is hurting for you and the reality of loss you know all too well. My prayer is for peace to surround each of you. For the good memories to linger longer than your tears. And for heaven to send you frequent drips of love. I’ll always remember Terry & Judy too- together again at last.
We love y’all so much

Terry was one of a kind! His friendship meant to world to Stan and me. We enjoyed many adventures together with kids in tow. He adored his girls, son in law and grandson and granddaughter. And his Horns! Terry could fill the room with laughter and always gave the biggest hugs. Our lives are blessed by his love and friendship and the whole clan.
May God comfort you and sustain you with your Dad’s love! His legacy will remain in our hearts always.
Years have passed but have fond memories of fun St Mark’s couple gatherings. Favorite story was Terry telling us he would lay across the front door waiting for daughters to come home from dates. He was a character. Prayers for peace and comfort for the family.
loved Terry and Judy so much.. both lifelong friends…
Though we lost contact long ago I always remember the first time in music class one year in junior high when Terry came in and sat down beside me. I wondered if he thought he’d get a higher grade by sitting with me. The music teacher, Mrs. Nuchols, was illustrious and at times riotously wild, banging on the piano. I’m deeply feel for his family’s loss, but know Terry enjoyed great moments of excitement and great fun. What a guy!
Amy/Emily, sorry to hear about Terry. Please accept our condolences and prayers. May he rest in peace. Paul and Judy
Sending you big hugs and love. Loved your dad!

So saddened to hear of Terry’s passing after such a long and tough battle with cancer. Terry was always so warm and friendly and a wonderful neighbor. Praying that his loved ones will take comfort that he is no longer in pain and is at peace. Joey and Paula Blazek
Amy, Emily, I will never forget when Terry arrived at Forest Park High School. We became friends right away and carried that friendship through our college years. He was my Sigma Chi pledge brother and we had a lot of fun at UT Austin. We did study some too. We had some great times together going to Hank Jr. concerts, boating on Lake Travis, ski trips, etc.
You know we love you like family. My sincere condolences.
“In Hoc Signo Vinces” brother Terry. Rest in Peace
My condolences to Terry’s family and friends. We met at the paper mill in Evadale, TX and became not only colleagues, but friends. Career adjustments found us competing against each other for a while, but the friendship remained. These past few years have found us catching up by phone every other month or so. As Terry’s cancer worsened, my prayers for him strengthened. He never stopped fighting and our discussions are ones I will fondly remember for a long time to come. He was one in a million and I pray God’s blessings on his family during this difficult time. In his honor, reach out, and rekindle a past friendship. Life is too short.
I’m so very saddened to hear of Terry’s passing. He was special to me during his years in WV and I’ll always remember him. His family was and is beautiful and I know his daughters and families, Sandy & Ross and all who were part of his life will have a huge void in their lives without him. He’s gone to rest with Greg now
