Thomas Chase Lopez

March 17, 1983 - September 4, 2021

Thomas Chase Lopez, 38, of Lumberton, Texas, passed peacefully from this life during the Hour of Mercy on Saturday, September 4, 2021. He was born on March 17, 1983, to Tommy and Brenda Lopez.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Amanda; daughter, Katherine; sons, Christian and Gabriel; parents, Brenda and Tommy Lopez; sisters, Cindy Rivas and her husband, Adrian, and Erin Evans and her husband, Mickey; nephews and nieces, Brady and Alicia Rivas, and Brayden, Grayson, and Sarah Evans; and a whole host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Chase is preceded in death by his grandparents, M.B. and Delores Nelson and Domingo (Joe) and Catherine (Kate) Lopez.

A Rosary will be recited by Reverend Andrew Moore, at 6:00 p.m., with a gathering of Chase’s family and friends to follow until 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 10, 2021, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 11, 2021, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2715 Calder Avenue, Beaumont., with his interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.

Always dedicated to his family, Chase’s favorite things in life always revolved around his wife and children. Family trips, Saturdays on the soccer field, and Sunday barbecues were where you found him living his best life. As a devoted husband, finding a stronger, deeper, and more connected love than the one he shared with his wife Amanda would be a challenge. His high school sweetheart: they laughed, loved, and endured in a way that was an inspiration to anyone who bore witness to their marriage. Chase will be missed as a father who knew of no greater responsibility than to that of his children. The lessons of hard work, honesty, integrity, and selflessness were lessons he imparted to his children in hopes that one day they each would change the world.

He was respected for his professionalism and known for his intellect, level-headedness, sense of humor, smile, and his contagious laugh. He never met a stranger and never lost a round of “Name That Tune,” even though he didn’t quite always know the lyrics. He will be missed, but his legacy will endure forever.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Edward Jones, Lopez Children 529 College Fund, 700 North Main Street, Suite C, Lumberton, Texas 77657.
