Thomas J. McCabe

February 19, 1937 - August 21, 2021

Thomas J. McCabe, 84, of Beaumont, died Saturday, August 21, 2021. He was born on February 19, 1937, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to Eilleen Segada McCabe and Joseph McCabe. Thomas was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan, a proud member of Knights of Columbus at St. Jude, and finished his civic duties as a Jefferson County Corrections Officer. He was a United States Navy veteran. Thomas and his humor will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Betty Jane McCabe, of Beaumont; daughter, Tamara McCabe, of Vidor; sister, Patricia Horvath and her husband, Richard, of Johnstown, Pennsylvania; two brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Theresa McCabe Robinson.

A gathering of Mr. McCabe’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 26, 2021, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont, with his interment to follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery, Beaumont.
