Thomas “Tom” C. Schwab

January 28, 1955 - June 21, 2022

Thomas “Tom” C. Schwab, 67, of Sour Lake, died Tuesday, June 21, 2022. He was born January 28, 1955, in Dallas, to Helen Louise Cary Schwab and Carl M. Schwab. Tom attended Texas A&M and Lamar University and spent many years working in the electrical engineering field.

Tom was very involved in his local community of Sour Lake and his church. He loved hunting, fishing, live music, and motorcycles.

He is survived by his wife, Johnnie Schwab of Sour Lake; daughter, Lauren Landry and her husband, Doug, of Cleveland, Tennessee; stepson, Brian Mullins of Vidor; stepdaughter, Sarah Simmons and her husband, Corey, of Lumberton; brothers Carl Schwab and his wife, Dorothy, of Carrollton; Bill Schwab and his wife, Ellen, of Rowlett; nieces and nephews, Kate; Ashleigh and her husband, Clay; Morgan; Ben and his wife, Genevieve; Zach and his wife, Ashley;  grandchildren, Isabella, Juliet, Ian, Lily, Kyler, Wyatt, Gavin, and Nolan; great nieces and nephews, Andrew, Joanna, Jeremy, Peter, Atlas, and Leona.

Tom is preceded in death by his son, Ian Thomas Schwab and his parents, Carl and Helen Schwab.

A gathering of Mr. Schwab’s family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, with his memorial service beginning at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3810 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

    Tom was my auto shop teacher at Lumberton High School from 83-85. Learned a great deal from him about the automotive field and life in general. Saw him a few times after I graduated and unfortunately lost touch with him after that. May he rest in peace
