Thomas “Tommy” Coots

January 1, 1968 - February 13, 2026

Thomas “Tommy” Coots was born on January 1, 1968, in Riverside, California, and passed away on February 13, 2026, at his home in Winnie. Tommy lived his life to the fullest, known for his pranks, witty comments, and never shying away from expressing his opinion.

A quiet man by nature, Tommy would come alive when the conversation turned to hog hunting, bay pens, or his game roosters—topics he could discuss for hours. He deeply loved his children and often shared how proud he was of them. His grandchildren were his greatest joy; he cherished all five and delighted in spoiling them every chance he got.

Tommy and Tammy shared 40 beautiful years of marriage, building a simple but happy life together. He is preceded in death by his father, Alfred Lewis Coots (Bud); his mother, Adella Mae Coots; his brother, David Coots; his sister, Tina Mathews; and his brother, Mike Coots.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Tammy Kay Coots; their son, Thomas Coots (TJ), and his wife, Megan, along with grandsons Troy and Logan; his daughter, Ashley Coots, and Ty Mullins; his granddaughter, Makayla Cravy; and bonus grandchildren, Kennedi and Logan Mullins.

Tommy lived a good life, filled with love for his family and the simple pleasures he enjoyed. He will be remembered for his humor, his devotion to those he loved, and the many memories he created with family and friends.

A gathering of Mr. Coots family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 27, 2026, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His funeral will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Broussard’s. His interment will follow at China Cemetery, China.
