Thomas Wayne Martin, Sr.

February 11, 1944 - April 7, 2026

Thomas Wayne Martin, Sr., 82, of Kountze, died Tuesday, April 7, 2026. He was born on February 11, 1944, in Port Arthur, to Annie Lou Brackin Martin and Walter Ray Martin.

Thomas was always telling jokes and loved to make people laugh. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, where he attended school with Janis Joplin. He also played football with the famous Coach Jimmy Johnson. Thomas then graduated from Lamar University. He became a member of the IBEW Local working as an electrician. He was Vice President of the Optimist Club. He was very active in the Jr. League Football and Pop Warner Football in Port Arthur. Thomas was a hunter and a fisherman and enjoyed birds and nature.

Survivors include his children, Tommy Martin, Jr. of Kountze and Kimberly Michelle Meyer of Peoria, Arizona; and grandchildren, Shasta Cherie Webb of Longview; Kirsten Sheah Williams and her husband, Josh, of Baytown; Thomas Jace Martin and his wife, Deanna, of Baytown; Jordan Brianna Brown and Tyler David Meyer, both of Peoria, Arizona; great-grandchildren, Micah Christopher Williams, Colten Ramiro Gaytan, and Isaiah Knox Martin; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Annie Lou Martin and Walter Ray Martin; brothers, James Ray Martin and Dean Howard Martin; nephews, Jean Allen Martin and Gregory Dean Martin; and grandson, Perry Duncan Brown, IV.

A memorial service will begin at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the home of Thomas Martin, Jr., 650 Pecan Street, Kountze. His cremation arrangements were handled by Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
