Timothy Lynn Broussard
Tim Broussard, 64, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, September 28, 2021. He was born on January 4, 1957, in Beaumont, to Dorothy and J. P. Broussard, Jr.
Tim was dearly loved by his family and a vast circle of longtime Beaumont friends. We all have fond memories of Tim growing up – he loved to garden and grow green beans at his grandparents’ house, hunting trips, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter lunches, family reunions at the farm, family vacations, even working cattle with his cousins Jim and Paul. Seeing his nieces and nephews at family events was the highlight of his day-dying Easter eggs, handing out dollar bills, and a kind gesture to each one of them.
Tim loved the outdoors. During high school, he developed a strong interest in agriculture where he was very active in the Future Farmers of America (FFA) program. He would continue his support for the program even after graduation where he attended FFA banquets and helped to raise money by selling fruit.
Immediately following his 1976 graduation from Forest Park High School he took his first and only job as a mill associate with the Beaumont Rice Mill. Tim was very proud of the Rice Mill, and his forty-five years there was a testament to good work he did there alongside his fellow family members who included Asa Hamshire, Buddy Broussard, and J.P. Broussard, Jr. and his maternal grandfather, E.C. Thallman.
He enjoyed frequent trips to the farm, and spending the night there, and relaxing rides on the tractor where he was most at peace mowing a field of grass. He also enjoyed daily trips in his truck where he would pop in on friends or drop a fishing line in LaBelle. He enjoyed visiting with his Market Basket Coffee Club friends and catching up on the local news. Tim also served as his mom’s longtime roommate and dependable companion.
Survivors include his siblings, Cindy Rod and her husband, Edward; Marsha Broussard; Presley Broussard and his wife, Cynthia; and Scott Broussard and his wife, Amy; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Rod LaBorde and her husband, Brent; Keli Rod Neal and her husband, Lane; Sara Rod Becker and her husband Garrett; Jayme Broussard Abshier and her husband, Todd; Hilary Broussard; Matthew Broussard; and Abby Broussard; great-nieces and nephews, Laurel LaBorde, Carson LaBorde, Peyton Neal, Hudson Neal, Sadie Becker, Foster Abshier, and Ellis Abshier; his favorite aunt, Bonnie Boles of San Antonio; and numerous cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and J.P. Broussard, Jr.; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Mrs. J. P. Broussard, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Thallman; and nephew, Cory Edward Rod.

A gathering of Mr. Broussard’s family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 3, 2021, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 4, 2021, at St. Anne Catholic Church, Beaumont, with a reception to follow in St. Anne Parish Hall. His interment will be 1:30 p.m., at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.

I am so sad to hear of this sweet friend’s passing, he gave me and Jerry a BBQ b4 we married back in 1988 at his grandparents farm I do believe it was and I still remember walking out of the house and there was a very long snake slithering down the stairs I HOLLERED Tim never seen him move so fast he come running to get that snake he was also groomsman in our wedding wish I woulda kept in better touch yet life happens ???? I know he will be missed tremendously
My condolences to Tim’s family on his passing. Tim was always polite and courteous and wanted to know how I was doing. If he didn’t see me for a while, he would call me and check on me. Tim was genuinely a good friend and he will be missed by all that called him friend.
Tim Was a very good friend. We enjoyed his company, with his 1/2 pint of choc. Blu-Bell, ice cream, daily. He will be missed by many. May His Soul, Rest in Peace.
I am so sorry to hear about Tim’s passing. I graduated with Tim at Forest Park HS. I did not hang out with him much back then. However, my mom, Angie Tarrer and Tim’ s mother, Dorothy were best of friends and neighbors on Green Meadow St. So when ever I visited my mother I looked forward to running in to Tim and having meaningful conversations while he sat on the back of his white Ford truck. Tim was always kind and friendly to our family. I will never forget him coming to the Baptist Hospital when my mom had to be rushed for evaluation. Tim was right there and my family really appreciated it. There is no doubt Tim is with the Lord in Heaven and we will truly miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Tim’s loved ones.
I met Tim when my kids were in FFA. He was active with the students, their Ag teachers. Little known how much he did for kids that wanted to show but could not afford it. He paid for many bags of feed and other supplies and never missed their programs. He was a Good Samaritan to many. If fruit and meats were left unsold, he would buy them so FFA would not lose money. He was a good man to have around when there was a need by any student. May he Rest In Peace.
Tim is now in God’s loving arms. May those same loving arms envelop you and all of your beautiful family with His everlasting peace and comfort. We love you

What a bright light has gone out. Sweet memories of life well lived????
Enjoyed having routine calls from Tim for now on 10 years knowing Tim. He would at first meeting jump on you about something and after a few minutes have a normal conversation with me. Every time when visiting I couldn’t help but smile, he made sure of it. Tim will surely be missed and God Speed Brother!!
We are so saddened by Tim’s passing. Tim was one of the first Ag students I had as a teacher at Forest Park (one of the best and most dedicated); also, one of the first to see my children when they were born—never forgetting a birthday. His phone calls and visits will be missed.
I’ve know Tim most of my life. Went to high school with him, and my dad worked with him at the Rice Mill. He had a special “witty” sense of humor that made you smile. Would come by my house and my dads on Sundays for a visit. Tim was like family to us and we will miss him!!
I’m sorry to hear of the passing of Tim. He was a fellow Forest Park classmate and I was always glad to see him when we had the opportunity. My heart goes out to all the Broussard family with special condolences to Marsha. I know he will be missed.

I have fond memories from visits with Tim, in Beaumont. He would always remember to give me a bag of cherished rice, to take back to Greece. My Dad cared very much for Tim, and enjoyed their visits. back in the day. Prayers for comfort, and love to all of you.

Cindy, Marsha & family- we are very saddened to hear of Tim’s passing. Keeping you and family in our prayers at this difficult time. Our dad loved him and had a special connection with him through the mill and our families. I will never forget Tim’s kindness in making sure we had our 5 pound bags of rice after dad was no longer able to climb the rice mill stairs to get them! Then after dad died, Tim made sure we had rice when we visited Beaumont-he even sent some bags to us in Tyler by way of a friend of his! I bet he is passing those bags of rice out right now to loved ones in heaven! We love y’all!
