Tommy Cascio

December 21, 1956 - April 15, 2026

Thomas “Tommy” Lawrence Cascio, 69, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away at home on April 15, 2026.

Tommy was born on December 21, 1956, in Beaumont, Texas, at St. Therese Hospital. He grew up in the area and remained deeply connected to his roots, his faith, and the people he loved throughout his life.

Tommy proudly served in the United States Coast Guard as an electronics technician. He served time and had many adventures in both Kodiak, Alaska and Elizabeth City, North Carolina, where all of his children were born. Tommy retired September 1, 1997; and his time in the service reflected his quiet strength, dedication, and love of this country.

Following retirement, Tommy worked as a technician manager at several electronic stores in the area. His talent in electronics was exceptional; and it was the type of work that he really loved. Tommy’s skill in the field of electronics offered many hours of personal tinkering and he was always willing to learn new things.

In his later years, Tommy helped with delivering “Meals on Wheels” through Beaumont’s Nutrition and Services for Seniors. Tommy also offered any humanitarian assistance that he could for the homeless in Southeast Texas.

A graduate of Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School, Class of 1975, Tommy remained closely connected to his classmates and never missed a class reunion. He cherished those lifelong friendships and the memories they shared.

In his younger years, Tommy enjoyed playing football in junior high and high school. Throughout his life, he found joy in the simple things, especially time spent at the beach, a place he loved dearly. Each year, he looked forward to gathering with his entire family by the water, creating traditions and memories that will be treasured forever.

Tommy was a man of deep and enduring faith, a true “roaming Catholic” who found comfort and peace attending daily mass at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica, St. Anne Catholic Church, and St. Jude Catholic Church. His faith was a steady presence in his life and guided him in quiet, meaningful ways.

He especially loved holidays spent with family, often gathering at his sister Gretchen’s home, where laughter, food, and togetherness filled the room. Tommy lived a simple, quiet life, but his presence was deeply felt by those who knew him.

He remained close to many of his high school friends, valuing loyalty and connection above all.

Tommy will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his devotion to family and friends, and the steady, genuine way he lived his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carolyn Leopold Cascio and Anthony Cascio.

He is survived by his children, Winter Smith and husband, Joshua; Lucas Cascio and partner, Erika Nowlin; and Sarah Cascio and partner, Jacob Bailey; grandchildren, Alyxandr, Elyzabeth, Emery, Olivia, Andrew, Brynlee, Elias and Holden; siblings, Gerard Cascio and wife, Brenda; Marie Cascio; and Gretchen LaFleur and husband, Terry. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Tommy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family; and all who knew and loved him.

A gathering of Tommy’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday April 23, 2026, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica, 700 Jefferson Street, Beaumont with a reception to follow in the Cathedral Center.
