Tommy Leday, Sr.
Tommy Leday, Sr., 64, of Stowell, died Tuesday, August 3, 2021. He was born on December 19, 1956, in Winnie, Texas, to Viola Guillory Leday and Adrian “A.L.” Leday.
Tommy never met a stranger. His smile and personality lit up every room he walked in. He was a man that wore many hats. He worked for GSU and helped as a plumber for his family business, Leday Plumbing. Later in life, he was able to pursue his passion of Coaching. He graduated from Lamar University on the Dean’s list. Coaching and working with children was his passion and brought him so much joy. Tommy was the happiest when he was spending time with his family, cooking, and spoiling his grand babies.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Lena Leday; daughter, Erica Leday; son, T.W. Leday, Jr. and his wife, Megan; granddaughter, Jayda Leday; grandson, Jake Leday; nephews, Kaevon Harmon and Kameron Smith; brothers, Gary Leday, Sr. and his wife, Bonnie; Andrew Leday and his wife, Joyce; and Andres Leday, Sr. and his wife, Marilyn; sisters, Mary Leday; Beverline Leday; Carla Thomas and her husband, Billy; and Andrea Leday; and numerous godchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Viola Guillory Leday and Adrian “A.L.” Leday; in-laws, Wallace and Maryann Harmon; sister, Orelia Davis; and brother, Eugene Leday, Sr.
Tommy was very passionate about education. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Tommy Leday Scholarship fund (cash app: $EricaLeday).
A gathering of Mr. Leday’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with his Rosary recited at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 9, 2021, at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer, Winnie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., at St. Louis Catholic Church, 315 Buccaneer Drive, Winnie, with his interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
