Troy Frank Hendon

August 9, 1978 - January 8, 2025

Troy Frank Hendon, 46, of Lumberton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Troy’s journey was one of strength and hope. He fought with unwavering determination and his incredible sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife, Sondra Hendon; children, Morgan Hendon and Carson Hendon; parents, Kirk and Kathy Hendon; siblings, Greg Hendon and his wife, Amanda, and Matt Hendon and his wife, Leah; father-in-law, Anthony Toups and his wife, Kerri; mother-in-law, Brenda Wood and her husband, Carl; siblings-in-law, Tonya Powers and her husband, Branden, and Ethan Toups; nieces and nephews, Jacob Hendon, Grace Hendon, Ethan Hendon, Tynley Powers, Parker Powers, and Ava Toups; grandmother, Sally Watson; and grandmother-in-law, Sue Toups.

Troy is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Frank Watson and Reginald Hendon; grandmother, Margaret Oubre; grandfather-in-law, Malcolm Redman; and grandmother-in-law, Martha Redman.

Troy was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Known for his kindness and fierce handshake, he was a friend to everyone and a stranger to no one. He loved making others laugh and was always entertaining. He lived his life with a passion for helping others, and his greatest joy was reaching out to make a difference in the lives of those around him. One of his proudest accomplishments was achieving his dream of owning his own business, where he loved the work he did and found success through the lives he touched. His memory will live on through all who knew him, and his impact will continue to inspire and guide us.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support received by everyone and to MD Anderson Cancer Center and Harbor Hospice for the exceptional care and unwavering compassion provided throughout Troy’s battle.

Memorial contributions may be made to Troy Hendon Memorial Scholarship, (please make checks payable to First Baptist Church Groves referencing the scholarship fund) 4000 Grant Avenue, Groves, Texas 77619.

A gathering of Troy’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m. with his funeral service at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church, 3650 Dowlen Road, Beaumont. His interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
