Troy Mack Herod
Troy Mack Herod, born January 1, 1962, in Dublin, Texas passed away on November 30, 2025, in Sour Lake. Troy was the only son of three children, easily recognized in his younger years by his red hair and no-nonsense demeanor.
Troy built a long career as an engineer and planner in plastic and chemical plants, known for his practical skill and confidence in tackling any problem that came his way. He approached work with determination and took pride in doing things thoroughly and correctly.
Outside of work, Troy had a passion for antiques and collectibles. He enjoyed the hunt for interesting pieces and the satisfaction of finding something worth holding onto. He was a tough critic but a steady presence in the lives of his family.
Troy is survived by his mother, Patsy Herod and sister, Tracy Carroll; his children, Christopher Herod, Amanda Canal, and Tori Bosarge; and his four grandchildren, Kimberly Herod, Emily Herod, Alana Canal, and Benjamin Bosarge.
He cared deeply for his family in his own quiet way and was fiercely loyal.
He will be remembered for his practicality, his independence, and the particular way he moved through the world-straightforward, and always confident in his ability to fix what needed fixing.
Cremation arrangements for Mr. Herod were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

Me and Troy used to be good friends hated to find out he passed away. I know he’s been sick. I talked to him a while back but hadn’t seen him lately. Rickey said he’s been not getting out much sorry for y’all‘s loss.
