Valerie M. Chesson

Valerie M. Chesson, 70, of Beaumont, died Tuesday March 11, 2025. She was born on October 13, 1954, in Beaumont, to Adolph Piere Duhon and Constance Marie Pontorno.

Valerie and Wayne were married for 52 years together and they loved waking up together in the mornings and having their morning coffee . She loved her 3 boys Brian, Jacob and Neal but loved her grandchildren the most and would do anything for them at anytime. She always put others first. Valerie had a love for going on beach trips and cruises with her very close friends. Getting together with her family and playing her favorite card games and just spending time together with them were the happiest times for her. Valerie was a substitute teacher at East Chambers, this had become a passion for her. She loved coming home and telling her family how much she loved each and everyone of her students and telling stories about her day. She was so full of life and a shining light to everyone that knew her.

Survivors include her husband, Albert Wayne Chesson; sons, Brian Chesson (Miguel), Jacob Chesson, and Neal Chesson (Lindsey); grandchildren, Jaycee Chesson, Lane Chesson, Tyler Chesson, and Crystal Chesson; brothers, Paul Duhon and Joe Duhon (Julie); and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gary Duhon.

A gathering of Mrs. Chessonโ€™s family and friends will be from ย 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2025, at Broussardโ€™s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. An additional gathering will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church, 2955 South Major Drive, Beaumont. Her cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussardโ€™s Crematorium, Beaumont.
