Valerie Janette Rulon
Valerie Janette Rulon, 73, of Silsbee, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, June 25, 2021, at Christus Southeast Texas – St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. She was born March 16, 1948, to Catherine Walters Eddings and Charlie Eddings. Valerie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her life centered around her Lord and her family. She was known for her love, compassion, and creative spirit. She was an artist, a poet, and a fierce prayer warrior.
On June 12, 2021, she celebrated fifty-three years of marriage to the love of her life, Kenneth. Their love story and marriage were an inspiration to everyone around them. She leaves behind a legacy of love of Christ and family that will live on through her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Rulon; and son, Bo Rulon and his wife, Amanda, all of Silsbee; daughter, Angela Whisenhant and her husband, Leslie, of Kountze; grandchildren, Kyle, Chase, Grace, and Tripp; sisters, Charlene Cravy and her husband, Bill, of Silsbee and Susie Slater, of Bastrop; life-long friends, Linda Tanton and Billie Sanders; numerous nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Wallace, and brother Charlie Ray Eddings.
Valerie never wanted to be the center of attention so her family will meet privately to celebrate her life. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

Time and distance limited my experiences with Valerie. But it didn’t take much to know what a loving person she was. I can see it in her children’s lives as well. I’m so grateful for the short time we had and know how much she is loved. Love you Kenneth and family. Nan Rulon Doucet, Wellington Fl.

My condolences to my cousin, Kenneth Rulon, and his family. Valerie will be missed by all.
I am very saddened by the passing of Janette. I met the Rulons through my brother, Mike Harper, many years ago when he worked with Kenneth. I visited with Janette a lot when I worked at Silsbee State Bank. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever known. I’m praying for Kenneth and his family. You will miss her until you meet again. Love you all.
