Vicki E. Baumgartner
Victoria E. Baumgartner, known affectionately as Vicki, passed away on July 27, 2024, at her home in Beaumont, Texas surrounded by her loving children. She was 78 years old. Born on April 14, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the beloved daughter of Edward Bilikiewicz and Jane Bergmann.
Vicki’s educational journey included an undergraduate degree from Penn State and a master’s degree from Villanova University, both in Pennsylvania. Her passion for education led her to a distinguished career as an elementary school teacher in Colorado, where she was recognized as Co Teacher of the Year and earned the prestigious National Board Teacher certification. Her commitment to education and community was further highlighted when she served as an Olympic Torch Bearer in 2002.
Beyond her professional life, Vicki was a woman of many interests including cooking, skiing, hiking, and watching both American football and soccer. Her love for travel took her around the globe with her 2 children in tow, enriching their life with experiences and stories.
Described as generous, smart as a whip, and the most loving mother and grandmother, Vicki’s warmth and kindness touched many lives. She is survived by her children, Meggan Baumgartner and Bret Baumgartner; daughters-in-law, Jennifer Hinds and Jarinsi Baumgartner; and granddaughters, Josephine, Mandi and Mia Baumgartner. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Edana Bilikiewicz.

The family is considering a memorial service in Colorado at a later date. Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, is assisting with the arrangements for Mrs. Baumgartner.
I am so sorry to hear this news. Vicki was such a fun, vibrant lady that welcomed our family with open arms when we moved to Summit County. She was my second oldest son’s, Spencer’s, teacher and she was so amazing with him!! He had speech challenges and she gave him the lead role in a Shakespeare play and honestly that “cured’ him and gave him such confidence. I have been trying to find her lately to reconnect and so I was so sad to hear this news. She loved her children and family and will be so deeply missed. Vicki made a difference!!
Meggan, Bret, and family,
Your mom was such a joy to be around! All of us here at Altus will miss her! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all!
Vicki’s personality was as bright as the sun. Led by her laugh, she happily engaged with the people around her. Her heart was huge when it came to children which made her exemplary in the classroom, and with Meg and Bret. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
Meggan and Bret, we send our deepest condolences to you and your family. You all are in our prayers.

Bret and Family,
Our hearts are with you all as you navigate this difficult road without your Mother. We pray for peace and comfort in the coming days.
Vicki was such a bright light in this world! With her generosity, hospitality, food, hugs and kindness, Vicki was like a second mom to me as I navigated being away from home, attending college in Denver, and living with her daughter Meggan. She took me in, fed me, and loved me. Her laugh was contagious. Her love and dedication to teaching was remarkable. Her curiosity for travel and adventure was palpable. Vicki, you will be missed dearly by so many, but I know your light will continue to shine in those you loved and in those who loved you. May you rest and rejoice in peace!
What an amazing tribute to Vickie. Sending love and peace to Meggan, Bret and family.

I have never met a family that is not only loving and kind but so so strong. It was an honor to know her, even for a short time. Her beautiful smile and amazing sense of humor made every moment that much better. May she rest peacefully until we all meet again.
