Victoria “Viki” Lynn Lozano
Victoria “Viki” Lynn Lozano, 71, of Lufkin, died Friday, January 27, 2023, at Houston Methodist Hospital. She was born March 13, 1951, in Port Arthur, to Dorothy and Charles Stepan, Jr.
Viki was a woman of many passions. She loved being a mother and especially enjoyed being Gramma to her grandchildren. She was always “mom” to her kids’ friends, or anyone needing a bit of extra care. She loved Jesus and raised her family as believers.
Viki was passionate about nature and all of God’s creatures. She especially loved her own pets. She worked in the veterinarian business for most of her working life; even until shortly before her passing, where she made many lifelong friends, both human and animal alike.
Viki was an avid gardener and crafter. She could crochet, knit, and sew just about anything, including many of her children’s clothes as they were growing up. She was a fantastic baker, with many remembered elaborate cakes and desserts. She was the class mom, and pta popcorn lady, always involved in her children’s activities. She loved music and sang and played several instruments.
Like so many things she tackled bravely, Viki fought her battle against cancer until the very end. She was and is greatly loved and her loss will be keenly felt.
Survivors include her husband, James Lozano; daughters, Lequitta Brister and husband, Brandy; Trelayne Hicks and husband, Kevin; and Shannon Cherry and husband, Michael; son, Tony Lozano; grandchildren, Levi Cherry; Haley Hicks; Jadon Cherry; Garrett Hicks; Jackson Hicks; Abigail Cherry; Kellen Hicks; Ellie Lozano; and Julie Gonzales; and siblings, Ronald Stepan and wife, Georgette; Karrie Clayton; and Jerry Stepan and wife, Pat.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
A gathering of Mrs. Lozano’s family and friends will begin at 12:30 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.

Viki worked at our veterinary clinic longer than the vet, I miss her so. They have a sweet memory picture of her out. Until we meet again miss Victoria, rest in peace sweet lady
On her birthday, I just wanted to leave a note. I didn’t know Viki passed away. I was friends with her when we all lived in Tacoma. May God comfort you all today.
My grief is overwhelming and I’m trying to not cry. The tears I shed are tears ???? of joy, as the scripture says, precious in the eyes of the Lord, are the death of His saints. I’m so sorry for y’all’s lost of a very wonderful woman. I remember her very much from the family reunions and she would always have a beautiful smile on her face. She would always message me or dad to check on me when I was in the hospital. I love y’all very much!
My condolences to Karrie and all the family. Viki was a wonderful woman. We marched together in the Mardi Gras parades with the Colleen Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps. She will be missed ????.
I am so sorry to here of Viki’s passing. She was such a caring person, and she loved my fur babies like her own. Viki loved her family. She would talk about her children and grandchildren and her fur babies. She will always be in my heart! Sending prayers. ????????????????????????

My deepest condolences on the loss of your sweet mother! I have sweet memories from Washington and from her time here in Lufkin. She was such a kind sweet person! AlwYs happy and willing to help.
