Viola Nell Riley Ard
Viola Nell Riley Ard, 83, of Silsbee died Wednesday, October 9, 2024. She was born on December 24, 1940, in Woodville, to Ethel Ozeda Anderson Riley and Allen Mooney Riley.
She loved pictures and if you spent any time with her she would bring out the photo albums. She took pride in displaying her family in frames all over the house. She also loved traveling and at any given moment her and Marvin would up and go a great distance just to eat.
Survivors include her husband of thirty-five years, Marvin P. Ard; children, Ethel Rogers and her husband, Curtis; Nelda Powers and her husband, David; John B. Means; Marty Ard and his wife, Becky; Jason Ard and his wife, Erica; and Connie Ard; brothers, Mike Riley and Clayton Ard; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. MawMaw Nell loved her grandchildren, adored her great-grandchildren, and was so excited to live to have great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Thomas Max Means; grandchildren, James Joshua Fielder, Jerry Frank Fielder, and Ethel Aileen Mitchell; and siblings, Aileen Harris, Howard Riley, Pat Riley, James Riley, and Maxie Riley.
A gathering of Mrs. Ard’s family and friends will be 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee, with a graveside service to follow at Turner Branch Cemetery, Spurger.

Was so sweet and caring. She always had a smile on her face. I have wonderful childhood memories growing up and staying with Nelda
