Virginia Makin Mott

December 11, 1951 - March 20, 2025

Virginia Makin Mott, 73, of Beaumont, died Thursday, March 20, 2025. She was born on December 11, 1951, in Beaumont to Mary Emily Stephens and Arthur Story Makin at Baptist Hospital.

Virginia “Ginny” is finally at peace, and we are grateful. She’s happy back in her husband’s loving arms again 2-stepping the time away. We will forever miss her fun-loving spirit, strong will and yes, even her stubbornness.

Survivors include her children, Randy “R. W.”  Mott, Jr. of Beaumont, and Nick Mott of Kountze; grandchild, Paitan VanNorstrand; siblings, Emily “LaSis” Stewart, Ronny Makin, and Sandy Straub; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and loved ones.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Randy Mott; and brother, Sonny Makin.

Memorial contributions may be made to an organization of one’s choice.

A gathering of Mrs. Mott’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 24, 2025, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her graveside service will be 10:30 a.m., Concord Cemetery, Zavalla.
