Walter and I met through dancing. Not by my choice but through a lady that loved to dance. It was her that brought us all together. Even though she had Alzheimer’s she danced until Covid. She danced even though she couldn’t walk. Walter was gracious enough to accompany her for 5 years every Sunday and Thursday. I’m eternally grateful for his kindness, patience and most definitely his friendship. My deepest condolences.
An all round nice guy and great dance partner to many. You will be missed.
A Fantastic Person, Coworker and Friend! A man from the North, who came and fell in Love with the South. A New Culture he came to know, and a NEW DANCE called Zydeco! He loved every bit of it, and was good at doing it all – just a Synthetic Coonass called Walt Coverdale!
R.I.P. my friend, and when you get upstairs, … SHOW’EM HOW TO HAVE FUN TOO!
You dont know me . If you have known Walter awhile, about 9 yrs ago he was partners with my mom, Bertha. She taught him how to dance! And what you said about him is so true. Fell in love with the south an Ioved the music. Last i saw Walter was at my mom’s funeral, june , 2016. Great human being. Do you know what the cause of his passing was? I was in Nederland about 9 weeks ago, and wanted to go by his house to see how he was, but was pressed for time and had no chance to do so.
Larry it was something neurological he never found out a diagnosis. That’s my understanding. He started dancing with my client and others in our little group after your Mom’s passing. He was a blessing.
