Wanda Gail Null

January 3, 1929 - December 20, 2024

Wanda Gail Null, 95, of Winnie, died Friday, December 20, 2024. She was born January 3, 1929, in Dunbar, Oklahoma, to Fannie Bell Stinson Underwood and Oscar Ade Underwood.

Wanda was an avid homemaker and loved her life as a wife to Ray for over 50 years and mother to her two wonderful children, whom she adored. She was a longtime member of the Winnie United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed her time as Candy Striper at the local hospital as well as working a number of local elections over the years. Wanda and Ray were even named the Senior Citizens of the Year at the Texas Rice Festival in 1996.  Wanda loved the simple things in life, which included being an avid birder, playing any type of card or domino game, and she loved to travel across the United States and abroad. She kept up with her family and friends and loved her visits and daily phone calls with Marsha and Jacob. She was loved as a mother figure to so many in her community, and she truly appreciated the company of her special friends Calvin and Ethelena Touchet, who lived with and cared for Wanda over the last few years.

Survivors include her children, Jacob Null and wife, Sandra and Marsha Fredenburg and husband, Moody; grandchildren, Jeff Null and wife, Jill; Adam Null and wife, Tamara; Michele Mallory and husband, Lewis; Kelley Fredenburg; Debra Moulder; and Robin McCann; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family; and sister, Lavern Zbranek.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray Null; brother, Sherman Underwood; and daughter-in-law, Donna Null.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her grandson’s (Kelley) home in honor of Wanda at The Independence Village, 905 Highway 3 North, Texas City, Texas 77591.

A gathering of Mrs. Null’s family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 23, 2024, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Hardin Chapel Cemetery, Hardin.

    Wanda and Ray Null were such a wonderful couple, dedicated members of First United Methodist Church Winnie-Stowell, and active in the Winnie-Stowell community. When I joined the Women’s Civic Club I remember how hard Wanda worked in the Funnel Cake Booth at the Texas Rice Festival, and Ray was always there when needed. Wanda was a lovely lady and will be greatly missed. Praying for all of your family.
