Wanda Lavoie

July 3, 1928 - December 10, 2022

Wanda Lavoie, 94, a longtime resident of Nederland, Texas, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Village Creek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Lumberton. She was born July 3, 1928, to Mary Sanson Pittman and Ellie Franklin Pittman.

Wanda devoted many years to Fair Store as a bookkeeper. Her love of gardening made her yard the envy of the neighborhood. Nothing made her happier than her children and grandchildren coming to visit. Wanda was a good friend and neighbor and her love for her family was immense. She will be missed by all those that were fortunate enough to love or know her.

Survivors include her siblings, Harold Pittman and Alvie Marie “Tooker” Rougeau; children, James Wallace and wife, Elaine; Cindie Miller and husband, Jeff; Phillip Wallace and wife, Cheri; Melissa Buxton and husband, Dennis; and Bobbie Camille and husband, Mark; twenty-two grandchildren; forty-seven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; first and second husband, Weldon Wallace (1969) and Albert Lavoie (2005); daughter, Charlotte Bradshaw; great-grandson, Kyler Buxton; and siblings, Andrew “Bud” Pittman; Sheila Pittman “Bill” Giles; Winford “Chubby” Pittman; Kelleth “KT” Pittman; Paul “Jack” Pittman; and Jerry “Rodney” Pittman.

A gathering of Mrs. Lavoie’s family and friend will begin at 9:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her interment will follow at Amiable Cemetery, Glenmora, Louisiana.
