Wanda Underwood, 87, of New Braunfels, died Tuesday, March 14, 2023. She was born June 24, 1935, in Shelbyville, Texas, to Lamerle Webb Tyler and Homer Tyler.

Wanda is survived by her daughter, Brenda Cromwell of Sour Lake; sons, Rick Williams and his wife, Karey Lyn of New Braunfels; Keith Underwood and his wife, Susan, of Coldspring; stepson, John Underwood, Jr., and his wife, Beverly, of Brookeland; stepdaughter, Joyce Bonura-Underwood of Beaumont; sister, Eloise Johnson and her husband, Ollie, of Santa Fe; half-sister, Paula Johnston of Warren; Melissa Riehl of Warren; Dancie Teague of Dickinson; grandchildren, Brandon Cromwell of Sour Lake; Casey Burleson and her husband, Aaron, of Sour Lake; Cory Williams and his wife, Kristi, of Winnie; Todd Williams and his wife, Brittney, of Fort Worth; Wes Underwood of Winnie; Samantha Smith and her husband, Kane, of Hamshire; and ten great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer Tyler and Lamerle Crow; husband, John Underwood; and brother, Homer Tyler, Jr.

A gathering of Mrs. Underwood’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 17, 2023, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Rosedale Cemetery, Old Beaumont Road, Sour Lake.
