Wayne McMullen

July 5, 1939 - April 1, 2022

Wayne McMullen, of Bevil Oaks, died Friday, April 1, 2022, at Buckner Calder Woods, Beaumont. He was born July 5, 1939, in Port Arthur, to Alvie Covey McMullen and Carl Dorman McMullen. He was a United States Army veteran.

Wayne retired as an operator with Mobil Chemical after over thirty years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars, and going to car shows. He rebuilt and showed his 1932 Plymouth. Wayne will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and pawpaw.

He is survived by his wife of over fifty-eight years, Barbara McMullen, of Bevil Oaks; daughter, Stacy Deebs and her husband, Jimmy, of Spring; son, Michael McMullen of Bevil Oaks; grandchildren, Emily, Taylor, and Brooke Deebs; great-grandchildren, Gracelyn and Hudson; sisters, Sue Ellen Moore and her husband, Clay, of Dickinson; and Pat Williams and her husband, Bob, of Los Angeles, California.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. McMullen’s graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

    I’ve known Wayne since we were young children, we lived within two blocks of each other, attended high school together and both worked at Mobil Chemical.
