William “Bill” Edward Schroeter
William “Bill” Edward Schroeter, 89, died Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. Bill was born January 16, 1935, in Beaumont, Texas, to Annie Mae and Andrew Schroeter.
Bill Graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur and Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. He served in the Marine Corp during the Korean War and was retired from the insurance and real estate business. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Nederland. The following is his record of office in Masonry: 1991 District Deputy Grand Master District 26B. 2018 Grand Pursuivant Grand Lodge of Texas. 2024 District Deputy Grand Master at Large Grand Lodge of Texas. 1995 Grand High Priest of Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Texas, 2005 Grand Master Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters of Texas, Order of Purple Cross York Rite College, Knight York Cross of Honor, 2005 Sovereign San Felipe Red Cross of Constantine, 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, Shrine Past President Nem Loof Clowns. Past Patron Order of the Eastern Star. He was also honored with “The Golden Trowel Award” for his service to Masonry. Bill is survived by his wife, Juanita “Nita” Lisotta Combs Schroeter and his children, Cindy Boyd and her husband Mark, Will Schroeter and his wife Britt, Guy Schroeter, and Candy Haynes and her husband Tim. He is also survived by Nita’s children, Janet Raines and her husband Mike, David Saleme and his wife Roxanne, James Saleme and his wife Cheryl, and Andrea Aran-Barbay and her husband James. Surviving grandchildren are Mindy Ireson and her husband Mark, Mark Boyd and his wife Megan, Courtney Boyd, Devin Boyd and his wife Megan, Michael Myus and his wife Kristianna, Christopher Wahl and his wife Christina, Toby Wahl and his wife Amber, Ella Schroeter, Abby Schroeter, Jake Schroeter and his wife Sarah, Shelby Clodfelter and her husband Gavin, Erin Weekly and her husband Derrick, Megan Barney, Cory Haynes, Michelle Ford and her husband Van, Misty Basham and her husband Chad, Mandy Priddy, Cody Haynes, Melanie Raines, Janelle Saleme, Camilla Rodeheaver, Carmen Saleme, Jarrett Saleme, Julia Saleme, Wade Aran, and Drue Aran. Great-grandchildren are Megan Duhon and her husband Austin, Nicole Ireson, Hattie Boyd, Peyton Williams, Casen Reed , Liam Hagan, Grayson Hardin, Caleb Boyd, Elise Myus, Olivia Myus, Ian Myus, Zachary Myus, Helena Myus, Memphis Myus, Gunner Myus, Kiera Wahl, Konner Wahl, Toby Wahl, Johanna Schroeter, Preslynn Clodfelter, Dawson Clodfelter, Declan Weekly, Dax Weekly, Taylor Weekly, Harper Weekly, Lilly Barney, Milo Johnson, Faith Haynes, Kirsten Harrington, Kolby Harrington, Kate Ford, Mason McPhatter, Madilynn Basham, Brady Priddy, Brody Priddy, Bronson Priddy, Jayli Saleme, and Brianne O’Neal and great-great-grandchildren are Reid Duhon, Claire Duhon, and Cade Duhon. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Roberta Wenner Schroeter and his siblings, Andy Schroeter and Charlotte Simmons.
A gathering of Mr. Schroeter’s family and friends will begin at 11:00 a.m., with his funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Military and Masonic graveside services will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.

I didn’t know Bill long but from the first time i met him, i knew he was a special person. He had my heart such a wonderful soul always had a joke or something funny to tell you to make you laugh. He will truly be missed by all those that knew him. Go Rest High on that Mountain Mr. Bill.
