William “Bill” Eugene Fouts
William Eugene Fouts, known as ‘Bill’ to loved ones, passed away at the age of 91 on January 12, 2026, in Houston, Texas. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas, October 29, 1934, to Frances and Herbert Fouts.
After graduation from Thomas Jefferson High School, Bill completed a stint in the army where he was stationed at the Ladd Army Base in Alaska. Returning to the Golden Triangle, Bill enrolled at Lamar University where he was a member of the ATO fraternity. It was at Lamar that he met his future bride, Katherine Fanette, an ATO sweetheart.
Bill’s professional career began with Texaco as a merchandising salesman in Odessa, Texas. Travels took him and his young family from Odessa to San Angelo, Houston, and ultimately back to his home of Port Arthur, where he and Katherine built a life filled with family, friends, and community.
Bill retired as a Senior Vice President for UBS Financial Services, after serving as a trusted financial advisor for countless clients for more than 37 years. He also enjoyed numerous informal social clubs with friends in the Golden Triangle area, including the Bachelor Club, the Gin Rummy group, and the “Done Working” Investment Club. Throughout his life, Bill believed in the importance of community service and was actively involved in volunteer roles including serving on the board at the Port Arthur YMCA, The Jefferson County Appraisal District, and Lamar University Foundation. Bill also volunteered as an advocate with CASA of Southeast Texas.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Katherine Fanette Fouts of Houston; his son David Fouts and wife, Missy, of Houston; his son Phil Fouts and wife, Mara, of Austin; his granddaughter Hannah Fouts Murphy and wife, Katie, of Sugar Land; his grandson Noah Reid Fouts and wife, Megan, of Magnolia; a great-grandson Rhys William Murphy; and a sister, Judi Fouts Patrick and husband, CJ, of Pensacola, Florida.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Herbert Fouts.
Bill will be remembered by family and friends as the loving, kind, compassionate, and very special person that he was. Not to mention for his keen investment advice, and his love of golf and sports in general.
The family would like to acknowledge the staff at The Buckingham and Next Level Hospice for their care and attention to Mr. Bill.

A fine man, advisor, and friend. It was a honor to know you. Rest in peace, and blessings to your family.
The best of the best. I will miss him dearly!
Our prayers go out to Katherine and all of the Fouts family, friends and loved ones. I met Bill in the early 70’s, at Rotan Mosle, where my wife, Judy, also worked. Also Katherine is the sister of, Margie, one of my classmates from St. Anthony High School, class of 1959. I enjoyed Bill’s advice and friendship. May GOD grant him salvation and a eternal life, as a member of the family of GOD, in Heaven.
Bill was a prince of a guy and loved by everyone who knew him. It was an honor to be considered his friend. Our heartfelt condolences to all the family for the loss of this very special man.
Dear Katherine and Family,
