John Wesley Holliday

May 18, 1950 - December 7, 2017

John Wesley Holliday, 67, passed away at home on December 7, 2017, after a lengthy illness. A Beaumont native and Lamar University graduate, he was born May 18, 1950, to Walter and Lillian “Cookie” Holliday and worked over 40 years as a general contractor.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Louann Weathersby Holliday; his daughter, Stephanie Holliday Park and her husband, Casey Park, of Beaumont; his son, Alex Holliday, MD, of Roanoke, Virginia; his mother; and his brother, Paul Holliday and his wife, Paula Nash Holliday, of Beaumont.

Never a more kind and decent man lived: he could never say no to friends and family in need. An unassuming and humble man, John Holliday, improved the lives of many in their homes and businesses throughout Southeast Texas and beyond. He knew how to get things done.

A gathering of Mr. Holliday’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 1:30 p.m., Sunday, December 10, 2017, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3810 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 3810 North Major Drive, Beaumont, Texas 77713; or to the Humane Society of Southeast Texas, P.O. Box 1629, Beaumont, Texas 77704.
