Sharon Ann Ledoux, 77, of Winnie, passed away Friday, January 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 28, 1947, in Amarillo, Texas to William and Juanita McKey. Sharon was a loving wife, mother, sister, MawMaw, aunt, and friend. She graduated from PNG class of 1965. She held many careers in her life including Johnson’s Florist, ran Harold Ledoux Dragline Service, secretary and Director of Religious Education at St. Louis Catholic Church, and secretary at Broussard’s Mortuary before retiring. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping, playing chicken foot, sudoku, skip-bo, crafting, painting, drawing, cooking, playing with her grandchildren and spending time with family. Jeremy Ross Greer, 48, of Winnie, died Tuesday, December 31, 2024. He was born May 24, 1976, in Beaumont, to Valerie Lynn Leger and Douglas Roy Greer. Carol Ann lived a life filled with unwavering faith, kindness, and a love that radiated to all who knew her. Her steadfast belief in God and her generous spirit were hallmarks of a life well lived. Carol Ann was born in Galveston, Texas to Florence and Ernest Cavazos on September 3, 1941, where she proudly embraced her identity as a BOI (Born on the Island). Wanda Gail Null, 95, of Winnie, died Friday, December 20, 2024. She was born January 3, 1929, in Dunbar, Oklahoma, to Fannie Bell Stinson Underwood and Oscar Ade Underwood. Wanda was an avid homemaker and loved her life as a wife to Ray for over 50 years and mother to her two wonderful children, whom she adored. She was a longtime member of the Winnie United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed her time as Candy Striper at the local hospital as well as working a number of local elections over the years. Timothy “Tim” Cliff Bauer, 73, of Winnie, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at his home in Kerrville, Texas. He was born on September 13, 1951, in Beaumont to Patricia and Leroy Bauer. Tim was a member of Grace Methodist Church in Winnie, Texas, and a lifelong resident of the Winnie-Stowell community. He met his high school sweetheart, Vicki Cuniff, while attending East Chambers ISD. Upon graduating high school in 1970, Tim attended Texas A&M University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy in 1973. James Lee Cooper, 74, of Hamshire, died Wednesday, December 18, 2024. He was born June 12, 1950, in Port Arthur, to Goldie Ruth Cooper and John Cooper, Jr. James loved to travel and grew up in a military family. He lived in Taiwan, California, Florida, Virginia, South Carolina, and Texas throughout his life. Mary Elizabeth Welch, 93, of Beaumont, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024. She was born on September 15, 1931, to George Manuel Jones and Ethel Ola Smith Jones, in Dallas. Mary was a successful Real Estate Broker in El Paso, Texas. She enjoyed playing Bridge with her girlfriends, and enjoyed putting together puzzles and solving crossword puzzles. In her earlier years, she enjoyed crocheting, reading, and sewing. Mary loved to travel, and she set sail on many cruises with her friends and with her family.  She’s traveled all over the world!  Among her favorite destinations were Alaska, Bali, Ireland, and Vietnam. Bertha Faye Hoffpauir, of Spring, died Friday, November 22, 2024. She was born on February 10, 1926, to Frankie Barrow and Ivy Barrow, in High Island, and she lived a long life of 98 years. In her years of growing up, she saw the Depression, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, and so many more that I’m sure she could tell you some stories of. Bertha loved planting her flowers in the spring. Sometimes she would have planted over 100 flowers, and she’d admire every single one. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Howard Talley Graff on November 11, 2024, at the age of 93. Howard was born on March 24, 1931, in Houston, Texas, to Howard Waldo Graff and Vera Robb Graff. He married Carvelynne Graff on March 18, 1972, at Calder Baptist Church in Beaumont, Texas. For forty-three years, Howard–better known as Dr. Graff to his patients– was a highly respected dentist in Beaumont. Steven Delaney Reho, 62, of High Island, died October 10, 2024. He was born December 1, 1961, in Beaumont, to Gloria and Jospeh “Joe” Reho. Steve owned a Lawn Service, for 35 years, and spent most of his life mowing grass in Crystal Beach. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons, his brother and his close friends. Rafael Valdez Alvarado, 79, of Winnie, died Saturday, October 5, 2024. He was born June 4, 1945, in Durango, Mexico, to Maria Antonia Valdez Gonzales and Rafael Alvarado Escajeda. Rafael lived in Winnie since the mid 70’s and was married to his wife, Nancy, until she went to be with the Lord in 2008. He has worked on farms, in construction, worked in the rice fields of Winnie and Hamshire and in various oil and gas companies throughout his time. His last 15 years he spent with Premiere, Inc. and retired from there. Charlotte Elizabeth Eddleman, 85, of Winnie, Texas passed away at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas in Beaumont, Texas on Sunday, September 15th, 2024. She was born in Lufkin, Texas on November 30th, 1938, to Earl Watts and Sadye McMullen Watts. Charlotte began school in Beaumont, Texas while living in the Edson Hotel where her father was employed. She had fond memories of her mother playing the piano while she tap danced across the ballroom after school. Her family later moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where she graduated from W.B. Jackie “Big Jack” Lee Bertolino, Sr., 68, of High Island, died Sunday, September 15, 2024. He was born September 11, 1956, in Galveston, to Helen “Tiny” Canada and Salvador “Sonny” Bertolino. Big Jack born and raised, planted his roots deep in the state of Texas. He loved fishing, golf, Nascar, and playing poker. He was a big fan of the Houston Texans and Astros, and all Texas sports teams. Jackie was a great husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was an all-around family man, who loved talking old history and keeping everyone updated with the weather and the news. He dedicated 29 years of service to the Galveston/Bolivar Ferry, where he also obtained many lifelong friends. Brenda Joyce Barron, 78, of Winnie, died September 2, 2024. She was born on August 26, 1946, in Mamou, Louisiana, to Eloi “Jack” Hebert and Swizerleen Hebert Clement. Survivors include son, Eric Anderson; step daughter, Kimberly West, and her husband, Steve; step son, Michael Barron, and his wife, Allie; two grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Laurence “Larry” Jefery Barron. A celebration of life for Ms. Barron will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Larry’s Old Time Trade Days, 14902 FM1663, Winnie. Her cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer, Winnie.

Shirley Dell Bergeron, 87, died Wednesday, August 28, 2024. She was born August 22, 1937, in Orange, to Grace Bilbo Dudley and Samuel Dudley. Dell always enjoyed going to estate and garage sales with her friends, and playing slot machines. She enjoyed helping others and often volunteered at her church and at local charities.  Her friends brought richness to her life.  They shared joy through garage sale finds, casino wins (and losses), and MUCH laughter. Dell loved the Lord and had a gift of hospitality and her home was a place where people were always welcomed and fed well.
