Valerie M. Chesson, 70, of Beaumont, died Tuesday March 11, 2025. She was born on October 13, 1954, in Beaumont, to Adolph Piere Duhon and Constance Marie Pontorno. Valerie and Wayne were married for 52 years together and they loved waking up together in the mornings and having their morning coffee . She loved her 3 boys Brian, Jacob and Neal but loved her grandchildren the most and would do anything for them at anytime. She always put others first. Valerie had a love for going on beach trips and cruises with her very close friends. James Floyd Hoffpauir, 96, of Winnie, passed away peacefully on the evening of Sunday, March 9, 2025.  He was born on January 11, 1929 in Terry, Texas to Douglas Hoffpauir and Zula Clement Hoffpauir. He was known to many by many different names.  To those closest, he was called Dad, Honey, Pop and Pawpaw.  To many others, he was called James or Floyd. Von Lawrence Coles was born October 14, 1933 to Vern Lester Coles and Violet Lavern Coles in Casper, Wyoming.  He passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 25, 2025 in Beaumont, TX at the age of 91 years with his wife Florence by his side. Timothy “Tim” Cliff Bauer, 73, of Winnie, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at his home in Kerrville, Texas. He was born on September 13, 1951, in Beaumont to Patricia and Leroy Bauer. Tim was a member of Grace Methodist Church in Winnie, Texas, and a lifelong resident of the Winnie-Stowell community. Mary Elizabeth Welch, 93, of Beaumont, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024. She was born on September 15, 1931, to George Manuel Jones and Ethel Ola Smith Jones, in Dallas. Mary was a successful Real Estate Broker in El Paso, Texas. She enjoyed playing Bridge with her girlfriends, and enjoyed putting together puzzles and solving crossword puzzles. In her earlier years, she enjoyed crocheting, reading, and sewing. Bertha Faye Hoffpauir, of Spring, died Friday, November 22, 2024. She was born on February 10, 1926, to Frankie Barrow and Ivy Barrow, in High Island, and she lived a long life of 98 years. In her years of growing up, she saw the Depression, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, and so many more that I’m sure she could tell you some stories of. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Howard Talley Graff on November 11, 2024, at the age of 93. Howard was born on March 24, 1931, in Houston, Texas, to Howard Waldo Graff and Vera Robb Graff. He married Carvelynne Graff on March 18, 1972, at Calder Baptist Church in Beaumont, Texas. For forty-three years, Howard–better known as Dr. Graff to his patients– was a highly respected dentist in Beaumont. Loretha “Puder” Webb Broussard, 77, of Hamshire, Texas passed away in Beaumont, Texas on October 30, 2024. She was born in Beaumont, Texas on January 18, 1947, to Byron Webb and Dorothy Rexes Webb Wilber. Loretha was raised and lived in Hamshire, Texas. Known for her vibrant spirit, love for her friends, and eccentric charm, she was a force of nature who lived life on her own terms. Helga Edith Castruita, 75, of Winnie, died Tuesday, October 14, 2024. She was born March 1, 1949, in Germany, to Elsa and Joachim Menzel. She is survived by her husband, Arnulfo Castruita of Winnie; son, Keith Norcross of Florida; daughter, Brenda Norcross of Florida; sister, Gisela Flesh of Tennessee; grandchildren, Brandon Norcross of Vidor and Caleb Norcross and his wife, Tia, of Buna; great-grandchildren, Carter, Addyson, Samuel, Alexander, and Ava Norcross; former daughter-in-law, Shanda Norcross. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Ursula Higdon. A gathering of Mrs. Castruita’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 18, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1208 Meneley Road, Winnie. Her interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
