Survivors include his son, Corey Lee Pinckney and his wife, Theresa; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and daughter-in-law, JiHae Pinckney. He is preceded in death by his parents; children, Brian Keith Pinckney, and Kenneth Pinckney; and sister, Linda Jo Brandon. Mr. Pinckney’s cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie.
Margaret Ann Menard LaFleur, of Winnie, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, at the age of 91. Margaret was born on November 29, 1934, to Clabert Menard and Ida Menard. She was raised alongside her five siblings and created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and lasting memories. She was married to Ernest “T-Boy” LaFleur, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and devotion. Herbert Dean Johns, 83, of Winnie, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2026. He was born April 4, 1942, in Houston to Rosa Lee Falknor Johns and Ruby Lee Johns. Herbert graduated from Milby High School in 1960 and soon began his career with the United States Postal Service. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1968 as a radar repairman. Following his military service, he returned to the Postal Service, where he dedicated many years before retiring as Postmaster in 1992. Never one to stop learning, Herbert pursued a lifelong goal of higher education in his early 50s, earning his teaching degree from Lamar University in 1999. She began working at the consolidated school as an aide and later served as the principal’s secretary at Hamshire-Fannett Middle School for 25 years, where she became a steady and familiar presence to students, teachers, and families alike. Tammy Lynn Monse, 59, of Winnie, died Monday, February 23, 2026. She was born to Margaret LaFleur Sitka and Charles Jerry Sitka on September 30, 1966, in Nederland. Survivors include children, Kayla Tallina and her husband, Josh, and Weston Monse and his wife, Justyce; grandchildren, Karlie, Raylin, Rawlson, Ezra, Brooklyn, Judah and Jade; sister, Kensie Hunt and her husband, Marc; her mother, Margo Sitka; and her former husband and father of her children, Wesley Monse. She is preceded in death by her father, Charlie. Mrs. Monse was a dedicated worker and a sociable “people person”. She enjoyed playing digital games in her free time and decorating with Western themed decor, and especially loved butterflies. Tammy spent much of her time birding and watching her Dallas Cowboys.
