Rose Evelyn Tynes

Rose Evelyn Tynes, 86, of Beaumont, died Thursday, August 10, 2017. She was born on February 20, 1931, to Mary and Tate Rushing in Walthal County, Mississippi. Rose was retired as a marriage and family counselor. She enjoyed reading, tennis, teaching Sunday school, and was a member of the Junior Forum for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Lannis Tynes; son, Lee Tynes and his wife, Susan, of Lafayette, Louisiana; daughter, Mary Tynes of Plano; grandchildren, Bryce and Brynne Tynes, both of Lafayette, Louisiana; brother, Donald Rushing of Pensacola, Florida; and sister, Pat Odenwald of Gloster, Mississippi.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Martha Tynes.

A gathering of Mrs. Tynes’ family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m. with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 13, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A graveside service will be held at Zion Hill Cemetery in Liberty, Mississippi, at a later date.
