Eva Cordelia Wright

February 23, 1920 - June 24, 2017

Eva Cordelia Wright, 97, of Vidor, went peacefully home to the Lord on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at home. She was born on February 23, 1920, in the sand hills of Nebraska, to Jenny and George Yount, and was the youngest of four children. Eva graduated from high school in 1937 in Craig, Missouri. That following September she and Maurice Wright married and moved to Texas in 1941.  Eva was a wonderful mother who loved flowers and gardening. She was an excellent baker and cook and was a Cub Scout leader for her youngest son, Curtis.

Survivors include her children, Carol Freeman and her husband, Jim, of Boliver, Missouri; Gerald Wright and his wife, Linda, of China; Ronald Wright of Vidor; and Curtis Wright and his wife, Sue, of Vidor; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and ten-great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Maurice “Moe” Wright; sister, Hazel Graves; brothers, Hershel Yount and George Yount; one grandchild; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A gathering of Mrs. Wright’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Broussard’s, with entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
