A Family Concern
In the late 1800's, Alex Broussard, owner of A. Broussard Livery Stable, opened his first funeral parlor in Southeast Texas. That first wood framed parlor was soon replaced by a large brick facility in downtown Beaumont which still stands today. Later, the family firm moved to a large, stately home at the corner of Calder Avenue and Forest Street. In 1958, they moved to one of their present locations in a quiet neighborhood on McFaddin in Beaumont.

Tena Elaine King
Tena Elaine King, 59, of Bronson, died Wednesday, May 1, 2024. She was born on October 1, 1964, to Roberta E. Ussery Burk and Charles E. Burk, in Liberty. Tena was a longtime resident of Silsbee. She graduated from Silsbee High School with her class in 1983. Tena worked for Brookshire Brothers for over 30 years where she was a manager of the bakery in Silsbee. She then moved to Bronson where she managed the bakery and deli at Brookshire Brothers in Joquin. Survivors include her husband, John Paul King; children, JoDee Jordan and her husband, Chris, of Silsbee; Corey King and his wife, Sarah, of Fred; and Molly Drake and her husband, Walter, of Silsbee; grandchildren, Mikaela Faye King, Hunter Wayne King, Aubree Danielle Jordan, Paisley LeeAnn King, Cole David Jordan, Hartlynn Elizabeth Drake, Timothy Wyatt Jackson Drake; mother and father, Roberta and Charles Burk; and siblings, Robert Heim […]

Anthony Rose, Sr.
Anthony Rose, Sr., 87, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on October 29, 1936, to Elizabeth St. Georgio Rose and Francisco Rose, in Beaumont, and was at veteran of the United States Army Air Corps. Survivors include his children, Charles Ace Rose, Sr. and his wife, Samantha Ann, of Beaumont; Anthony Rose, Jr. and his wife, Ann Marie, of New Windsor, Maryland; and D.J. Rose of Houston; grandchildren, Charles “C.J. Rose, Jr., Emma Lei Mitchell, Michael Jason Mitchell, Christina Lynn Ferriola, and Lindsey Kathleen Grant; and great-grandchildren, Dentiny Angelina Rose, Charlie Putnam, Christian Anthony Rose, Peyton Reese Rose, Presley Ryder Rose, Amara Schoenamer, Koen Schoenamer, Neil Grant, Damon Cruz, James Ferriola, and Ethan Ferriola. Orville Neil Odom, 85, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Christus Southeast Texas-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. A gathering of Mr. Odom’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with his funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 6, 2024, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Consolata Cemetery, 2300 Country Club Road, Lake Charles, Louisiana.
