Joseph Richard Savoy

Joseph Richard Savoy, 75, of Richardson, formerly of Beaumont, died Sunday, January 29, 2017, at San Remo Continuing Care Center, Richardson. He was born on August 9, 1941, to Mae Courville Savoy and Evans Savoy in Port Arthur and retired from North Star Steel. Joseph was very sociable and wherever he journeyed he never met a stranger. He loved cooking shows.

Survivor include his wife, Peggy Savoy; children, Lisa Gonzalez and her husband, George, of Buna; Richard Savoy and his wife, Josefina, of Bridge City; Stacy Guidry of Buna; Sharon Williamson and her husband, Roger, of Richardson; Frank Smith and his husband, David, of Long Beach, California; and Stephen Smith and his wife, Victoria, of Washington, D.C.; sister, Virginia Dismukes, of League City, eleven grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and one sister.

A gathering of Mr. Savoy’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 4, 2017, in the Chapel of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont. His interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
