Charles L Gillespie

Charles L. Gillespie, 81, of Beaumont, died Thursday, March 9, 2017, in Beaumont. He was born on June 12, 1935, in Waurika, Oklahoma, and had been a longtime resident of Beaumont.  Charles was a retired grocery representative, softball coach, and BISD substitute teacher known by many as “Mr. G”. He was a longtime key member of the YMBL.

He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Dodson and her husband, Mike and Betty Drummond and her husband Dave, all of Beaumont; grandchildren, Michelle Messina and her husband, Mark; Melissa McIntosh and her husband, Nate; Charles Michael Dodson and his wife, Allison; and Rebekah Drummond; and great-grandchildren, Hannah Clark, Grace McIntosh, Nora McIntosh, Olivia Dodson, and Nathan Michael McIntosh.

Charles is preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Lois Gillespie.

A gathering of Mr. Gillespie’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Westgate Memorial Baptist Church, 6220 Westgate Drive, Beaumont, with his interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
