Elmer "Buddy Wayne" Eddings

June 8, 1956 - April 7, 2021

Elmer “Buddy Wayne” Eddings, 64, of Silsbee, died Wednesday, April 7, 2021.  He was born on June 8, 1956, in Kountze, to Opal McGallion Eddings and Elmer Eddings.

Wayne met his forever love, Denise, or “Baby Girl” as he affectionately called her, in childhood and laughed and loved together for forty-five years of marriage. Their marriage was one of great inspiration to all around them.

Wayne was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed riding horses in his younger years and loved his special horse, Dan. He loved dancing with Mrs. Beulah, his beloved mother-in-law, to french cajun music.

Wayne was loved by his church family at North Hardin Baptist Church. He was an amazing brother and son and always a favorite of his nieces and nephews. He was the first to pick and play with the kids and would never turn down a good fish fry or crawfish boil. A carpenter by trade, Wayne worked with the family business of Provost Construction for a number of years. You could always find Wayne in the woods or playing dominoes with Denise and their very special friends Dwon and Barbara Moore.

Survivors include his wife of forty-five years and twelve days, Denise Eddings; father, Elmer Eddings; sisters, Carolyn Morrow of Sour Lake and Barbara Cole and her husband, Roy, of Kennewick, Washington; brothers-in-law, Michael Provost and his wife, Sandra; Jerry Provost and his wife, Lisa; and Zeke Provost and his wife, Sharon; sisters-in-law, Sandra Kirbow and Cindy West; numerous nieces and nephews; and special fur baby, Pistache, or Cujo, as Wayne like to call him when he was mischievous.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Opal Eddings and brother-in-law, Dalton Morrow.

A gathering of Buddy Wayne’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Franks Branch Cemetery, Fred.
