Christine Leigh

December 30, 1955 - May 26, 2021

Christine Leigh, 65, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, May 26, 2021 after a long and very courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was born in Beaumont on December 30, 1955, to Isabelle Marie Benoit and Dorrise Daigle.

Chris was an amazing person who loved sharing her beautiful life with her loving husband. Aunt Chrissy was passionate about spending time with her nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She loved them all “as big as the sky, and more than lemon meringue pie!”. It was even rumored she was the “best aunt there ever was”.

She leaves behind, with heavy hearts, her stepdaughter, Jonel Johnson and her husband, Joe, of Beaumont; step-grandchildren, Jessica Dee, of Beaumont and Garrett Dee, of New York; siblings, Irene Fuller of Kountze; John Daigle and his wife, Ann, of The Woodlands; Deborah Turkleson and her husband, Don, of Houston; Tommy Daigle of Palacios; and Margaret Leger and her husband, Phillip, of China.

She has been joyfully reunited with her parents; husband, Joe Leigh; and brothers, Robert Daigle and Charles Wayne Daigle.

Her cremation will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, 8050 Eastex Freeway, Beaumont, Texas 77708.

We so loved the friendship of Joe and Chris. They were present at our wedding and we enjoyed many cups of coffee at McDonalds with the Amazing Grays. Love and prayers to all their families.

When I came across this obituary, I knew it was my childhood friend even though I didn't know her married name. Christine and I went to school together for 12 years, at St. Anthony's and at Kelly. She was so beautiful then, as she still was in adulthood. I grew up on Orange street, in the same neighborhood of the Daigle family and have fond memories of playing together, as well as being friends at school. My condolences go out to all of her family. I know she will be dearly missed. RIP Christine.
