Gerald “PAw Paw” Bardwell
Gerald “Paw Paw” Bardwell, 82, of Beaumont, died Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on January 6, 1935, to Christine Williams Bardwell and Robert Bardwell, in McComb, Mississippi, and was a United States Army veteran. Gerald retired from the United States Post Office as a Postmaster. He enjoyed going to the casino and the beach and was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros fan. Gerald was very charismatic and touched many lives and will always be missed by everyone and everyone he met. You learned something new and unique about yourself through him. Gerald enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Bardwell; daughters, Terri Moore and her husband, John, of Winnie and Cindy Douglas of Vidor; son, Tommy A. Knight of Beaumont; grandchildren, Brandee Wickland and her husband, Kevin and Tommy C. Knight and his wife, Caitlin, all of Beaumont; and Robbie McLemore of Vidor; great-grandchildren, Kaden Wickland, Kylee Wickland, and Grayson Knight; step-grandchildren, Justin Moore of Hamshire and Amanda Gutierrez and her husband, Frank, of Kirbyville; and step-great-grandchildren, LiLi, Austin, and Logan Gutierrez.
He is preceded in death by parents; sons, Wayne Bardwell and Keith Christen; and sister, Yvonne Matlock.
A gathering of Mr. Bardwell’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 17, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
