Carolyn Virginia Coleman

December 12, 1936 - June 21, 2021

We sadly lost a wonderful lady on Monday, June 21, 2021, when Mrs. Carolyn Virginia Riley Coleman passed away at the age of 85. She was born on December 12, 1936 in Woodville, Texas.

Through the years, Carolyn was very active at North End Baptist Church whether it be serving on committees, signing in the choir, leading the bells, playing the piano or organ when needed, and most recently the weekly quilting group. In her professional career, Carolyn was an admired educator. Her final years as a teacher were at West Brook High School where she was a reading teacher, dyslexia specialist, and cheerleader sponsor.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of almost sixty-six years, Mr. John Henry Coleman, Jr., their two daughters; Vicki Lynn Wilcox and Elizabeth Kay Coleman, along with Vicki’s husband and children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Aden Riley and Ruby Hopson Riley and her brother Billy Aden Riley.

A gathering of Mrs. Coleman’s family and friends will begin at 11:30 a.m., with her funeral service to follow at 12:30 p.m., Friday, June 25, 2021, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
