Betty Nichols

Betty Nichols. 81, of Lumberton, died Thursday, April 20, 2017. She was born on March 11, 1936, in Beaumont, to Marie George and Andrew George. Betty was a registered nurse at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas and owner of Ray Nichols Rabbitry.

She is survived by her sons, Lynn Nichols and his wife, Doreen and Charlie Nichols and his wife, Wendy, all of Lumberton; daughters, Vickie Mills and her husband, Monty, of Lumberton and Tina Fagan and her husband, Wayne, of Corpus Christi; nine grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Peggy Gonzales, of Bevil Oaks.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray Nichols; brother, Carl Lee George; and nephews, James Lee Gonzales and Gordon George.

A gathering of Mrs. Nichols family and friends will be from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a. m., Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 4330 Crow Road, Beaumont. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont, with John Porter, Jr., Michael Porter, Josh Porter, Ethan Porter, Avery Porter, and Jason Everett, serving as pallbearers.
