Jean McBryde

Jean McBryde, 96, of Port Neches, died Monday, December 27, 2021, at Cascade of Port Arthur. She was born August 7, 1925, in Star City, Arkansas, to Hattie Glenn Moore Baldwin and Joseph Benjamin Baldwin.

Jean was an active member of her church in Arkansas and First Baptist Church of Port Neches. She enjoyed reading, ceramics, and gardening.

Survivors include her children, Jimmie Rudd and husband, Don, of Port Neches and Richard McBryde and wife, Sandra, of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Ric Carver and wife, Shannon; Jonathan Rudd and wife, Kelsey; Jamie and Amee Hilburn; Kimberly Rudd; Richard McBryde; Matthew McBryde and wife, Kristen; and Zachary McBryde, of Nashville; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hattie and Joseph Baldwin; husband, James McBryde; brother, Ted Baldwin; and sisters, Myrtle Bush; Elsie Chambliss; Ruby Baldwin; Katie Baldwin; Edith Weiner; and Eva Belle Newton.

A memorial service for Mrs. McBryde will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2021, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for Mrs. McBryde may be made to First Baptist Church, 1900 Magnolia Avenue, Port Neches, Texas 77651.
